That he uses the message of the Cross to seperate wheat from Chaff, in that the elect get saved, while remainder get even more hardened by its rejection?

How can the non-elect get "even more hardened"? Either you are elect and chosen by God or you are not.

Does God use the gospel to lead "saints" to Christ????

Nooo. Saints are already in Christ.

Jesus came to call sinners to repentance, not saints.

    Weird question.

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. (1 Corinthians 1:18)

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (Romans 1:16)
