    God alone is sovereign and has the final authority even over the wicked, even as far as the reason for which they were created:

    Proverbs 16:4 The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

    On the other hand, I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of God's retribution for a bad witness:

    Matthew 18:7
    Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

    1 Corinthians 3
    16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
    17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
