Does the bible say anything against dogs or cats?

    Yes in fact, thanks! Someone else has also in the meantime made reference to it.

    But notice the interesting nuances in the different translations. I 'translated' from how I remembered the Afrikaans, and yours of course is the direct English. Unfortunately I don't know Hebrew - it would have been great to see how it is possible to so 'differently' understand the text. In the Afrikaans Bible it says the animal understands the heart of its owner; in the English it says man regards the life of his animal. Quite nice!
