Don’t Rely on “Daily Show” for News, Says Show’s Own Rob Riggle

    Young people should not rely on “The Daily Show” for news, according to Rob Riggle, a correspondent for the popular comedy show, which is hosted by liberal Jon Stewart. According to polls, the politically liberal “Daily Show” is the main source of news for many young people.

    That show is hilarious....but I agree....I wouldn't recommend it for news.

    A laugh at the silliness of politics, yes...but for news, no. Then again, there isn't much I would recommend for news.

    The Daily Show isn't as good as it used to be. IMHO the Colbert Report has become a far superior show.

    Neither of them function as news outlets, however, they do require a previous engagement in newsworthy issues in order to appreciate the show. Stewart has often explicitly pointed out that what they do is comedy, not news:

    The whole segment is good, but if you're pressed for time start four minutes in.

    The sad thing is a lot of Obamamaniacs do get their news tips from The Daily Show and/or SNL's Weekend Report.

    No...wait, i was wrong. Getting news from the Daily Show or SNL is probably more reliable than getting it from ABCNNBCBS.
