Speaking of reasonable questions.. What about the question I asked earlier? Why is there so much fuss over this bill, when the last Republican congress passed the same text in their bill?

I'm fussing now because I heard about it now. I didn't hear about it then or I would have fussed then.

I only ask because I am curious to see how the Democrats have it wrong when the Republicans came up with the idea.

To me, it's just more proof that ALL of them, Republicans and Democrats alike, are crooks and corrupt and like El_Guero mentioned on another thread, we should fire them ALL.

I read the same thing you did, but something doesn't add up. One thing is sure. Bush didn't veto it. He hasn't ever figured out how to do that.

Senator Hutchison might be able to tell me. I'll call her.

I'm sorry? I've been away from the board for a bit. I came back. I responded to this thread. Was this info somewhere else? I don't understand what's going on here. I've made my distain for both parties well known. BUT I don't read every thread. I agree that we need to throw all the bums out. I've said it before that we need to start over. What's going on here that I'm missing?

 

No worries mcdirector. This was not directed at you, or anyone in particular. I just find it funny that people will jump on the "bash the Democrats" bandwagon and yet when it's found out that the Republicans passed the same text in a bill, then nothing is said.

Although it sounds similar, I don't think it's the same thing we're talking about. We are talking about a bill before the Senate. S.1

Also, S.1 has the same wording that the last congress passed. Maybe the bill you just mentioned is a new bill with more over reaching steps?

OK, many of the politicians are selling out the USA.

But, in my book - when you sell out the USA - you are a liberal. There may not be many conservatives in my book, but there are at least 6.
