    Hello all,
Further to my recent foray into the world of film making  I have now got a lead called BELKIN F5U208..... so far so good. I can now get film files from my ancient camcorder onto my PC. However it seems I still cannot burn them to DVD :( :( because I have not got a plugin DVD burning rom - or something like that, can I get one free if possible from the internet?

I'm not sure of the history of what you're trying to do, but I routinely copy video from my ancient (analog) video tapes to DVD. I bought a stand-alone DVD burner that accepts analog (or digital) video. No computer, no separate software, no hassle. Just connect the old tape machine (or camcorder) to the burner, and away you go. I had to spend some bucks for the burner, but by the time you hassle with various computer inputs and outputs, you'll spend it, plus lose a bunch of time.

What software came with your DVD Burner?

What File Format are the "Film" files in...

Do you want to be able to play them in a standard DVD Player?

Humblesmith's solution will work. But, it does it in 'Real Time' not 'File Transfer Time'..

And, there is the extra expense when you already own a DVD Burner...

    hello both,
I have nero vision express, I can get the film into this prog. but there`s no sound at all on playback  want to play in standard DVD player. The films are of family and holidays, and I would like to share these with my sisters who have not got computers , but have DVD players.

Nero is not the most user friendly program to use...

(But, they give drive makers a really great deal)

But, Nero *should* do all you need to create a playable DVD...

Unfortunately, you'll have to do a Google Search and find some user support sites for Nero...

Or, start a new thread asking for Help with Nero...

I use Roxio myself as I am more familiar with it and have found it to be a bit more intuitive for this 'geek'.

But, you should have all you need... With Nero...

Just need some help connecting the dots...

While you're waiting now might be a good time to cleanup your hard drive and defragment it?
