If your wife puts pork on the dinner table, and you don't eat it, than what do you propose to do with it?

Consider Colossians 2:16... "Let no one criticize you for what you eat or drink, or in regard to festivals or new moon ceremonies or a sabbath day."

Suggest you read Romans 14 the whole chapter. that should explain everything :love2:

Had the same problem once krogers. Thankfully, eating pork is not an issue among Asians, and even Hawaiians I believe.
However, in addition to Romans 14 suggested by Philippians 121, I would suggest you also ponder 1 Timothy 4:15, which says:

So, if this hesitance is simply because you think or feel that the dietary laws are still in effect and have not been done away with, then be of good cheer, we are free in Christ.

However, if you honestly, truly are convinced it is not lawful for a Christian to eat pork, then the Bible says to him who knoweth to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

On the practical side, it is a fact that whenever something is wrong with us, the doctors will seldom say "abstain from all kinds of animal meat", they will usually say, "don't eat pork", also I read somewhere that the alimentary system of most scavenger types (hogs and pigs are scavenger types) are like humans. One way.

Unlike those that the LORD described as acceptable food, scavengers have no pre-filtering until it gets to the liver.

Shrimps, too, and certain kinds of sea food.
(Oooopsss, hope I didn't add more to your list. )

They have a pre-filter before it gets to the innards and becomes part of their blood and flesh.

Me, I'm hypertensive and diabetic, and often told to stay away from pork, but, hey, no doctor can answer my question: if I do, will I live forever ?

Not eating pork is abiding by the law, which means you have to decide if your under the law or grace. Trying to live under the law when you are under grace is a lack of faith itself, and it is works.
    So which one are you?

When Peter had his vision in Acts 10, with all those unclean animals and birds on the sheet, the voice told him to kill and eat. Peter said, uh-uh, I've never eaten any common unclean thing in my life, not gonna do it.

The voice then said, what God has cleansed, don't you call common. Apparently Peter was still resisting, so the voice told him the same thing three times.

If the conscience tells you it's a sin to eat pork, your conscience must give way to the word of God.

    Eat the pork, man.

I would say your beef is not legitimate, but the pun police would arrest me.

Yep, although I do happen to be a Type II diabetic, as well, there are a few good things about having B/P in the 100-115/60-75 range!

Although cake, pie and the pancakes are basically out, except for a very special occasions, and I don't like sugarless syrup, I can survive this with difficulty. :BangHead: :1_grouphug:

But as to the "good things" as to the B/P!.
Let's see, among a few other good things, there's bacon, ham, sausage, barbequed pork spare ri...! :applause:

    NC vinegar meat????

Gekko, the fine state of Alabama can show you an excellent meal of Barbecue. My biblical proof is Genesis 37:17...

"For I heard them say, 'Let us go to Dothan.'"

    ...followed by 2 Hesitations 3:26:

"And the Israelites went to Dobb's Barbecue, and they were yea indeed filled."

...um, the 2nd scripture is kind of in the apocrypha...and it's one of the lost KJV translations...and I have the only copy...BUT IT'S LEGIT I tell ya...

Are you not eating pork becasue of religeous reason? No, then it's not the same thing. I was commenting on the op's question about not eating it becasue of biblical reasons.
    Two different things.

Just smoked a great boston butt last night. I love ribs too. Feel guilty? Nope not at all. I eat all types of food. If you don't like pork then do not eat. Only sin to me as far as food goes is gluttony, do not overindulge.

I agree. I am not much of a fan of anything from the husk-hoggin' scum-suckin' swine types. ;)
