Sorry Hope of Glory...but this is one instance where EBAY doesn't stop it. They just don't want counterfeit coins listed for sale on their site...check with a reputable coin dealer and they will tell you the same thing...buyer beware when it comes to buying coins from EBAY, because they will not help you get any relief when you buy a Morgan Silver Dollar and it is counterfeit.

However I would say that EBAY does an amazing job on 99.9% of its transactions. Its just coins is a weak area.

Phillip, some of the Mexican counterfeits are as old as the originals...and of very high quality which makes them very valuable (1840s and 1850s). The Chinese have replicated the old Morgan Silver Dollar dies almost perfectly and make them from the same amount of silver as the originals. They flooded in the market in 1999. Buyer beware of any Morgan Silver dollars from dealers in Hong Kong or New York when looking on the internet

I fix stereos & other electronics equipment for a living. Several units have come to me, after being bought on e-bay, unworking. The damage to the unit could not have been via shipping, ergo, the units must have been sold defective. I don't know how e-bay protects consumers, but I wouldn't buy expensive sound equipment thru them.
