So I have been reading Acts these past few days. Mostly out of a travel sized NIV84 my wife's grandmother gave me during the kids' activities. Before bed, I read from my HCSB. And throughout the day at work, if I get a spare minute, I pick up where I was at in the LEB on my phone.

Anyone else have similar reading patterns?

Eclectic text? I thought this thread was going to go in a different direction.

For the last year or so I've been using the LEB but switched last week to the Christian Standard Bible (CSB) after it came out on Logos. I teach from the NIV in the Adult Sunday Bible class so I'm back and forth too.

I have done that in the past, but for whatever reason, i like to stay in the same translation for what i'm studying/reading...

I'm in Deuteronomy for my yearly bible reading...NIV 1984
I'm in Mark for Sunday Morning Sermon...KJV
I'm in Psalms and Proverbs for my Morning reads...NET/KJV
I'm in Malachi for Sunday night...KJV
I'm in James on Wed night...KJV

As was I. Unexpected, but interesting, topic.

I do not. I compare texts from different versions, but my Bible readings consistently come from the Bible I have used for years, a KJV. I do hear the NIV read daily in the morning on a radio station I listen to -- Listen to the Bible by Max McLean.

CSB/Lifeway has a review copy request (while supplies last). I got mine a couple weeks ago. I realize they must use inexpensive promo versions for such requests, but the print on the one I got is so small I would never spend any time sitting and reading it. I'm not sure they help themselves much with this promo. You need to be young, with good eyesight, to read it, and probably more young folks will read an electronic version anyway.

I saw some KJVs at Dollar Tree yesterday. Looked to have been imported from China. They definitely did not seem "sturdy."

Probably the same printer! I believe the CSB's said they were printed in China.

Not too many years ago (less than 200) the American culture was built on a common understanding of the Good Book. People met together and shared from the same bible. So our culture was not based on an eclectic text, but on a steadfast one.

Now, in the age of electronic devices (phone, kindle) we can absorb eclectic texts in isolation. As Monk might say, it is a blessing and a curse.
