    Hello Everyone!

Here's an interesting story from the "Around America" section in the Washington Times:

    NEW YORK
    Muslims boycott talks with Anglicans
NEW YORK — Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams suffered a blow Saturday when Islamic scholars boycotted top-level talks between the faiths.
The Muslim academics abruptly withdrew from a two-day meeting with Anglican delegates in New York in protest at the appointment of the Episcopal Church's first actively homosexual bishop. The talks were supposed to coincide with the second anniversary of the attacks and were to include a visit to ground zero.
But the Muslim group from Al-Azhar University in Cairo, one of the most authoritative centers of the Islamic world, canceled last week, leaving some of Archbishop Williams' delegates stranded in the United States.
The Daily Telegraph reported that the Muslims blamed the Episcopal Church's Aug. 5 decision to confirm the Rev. Gene Robinson as bishop of New Hampshire, and said that their decision to withdraw was supported by Christian groups in Egypt.

This really makes witnessing to and reasoning with Muslims even harder! THANKS ECUSA!

    In Christ,

    Dale

    I couldn't agree more.

Islamic nations look at the immorality of the west and associate it with Christianity. Many foolishly believe that immorality is ok as long as it doesn't hurt anyone. Well it is hurting people because it is fueling Islamic fundamentalists and leading to the death of innocents.

As I have said to a Muslim friend from Iraq, in a sense Christianity and Islam have both failed. In the west, because of the silence of Christians, many immoral people have made laws which are destroying society. In Islamic countries, because of the silence of many Muslims, people like Sadam or the Taliban gain control.

Muslims don't have much respect for us because if Christianity is so good why are Christian nations so immoral?

If we want Muslims to listen to us we had better start doing something about the immorality in our own countries and especially do something about the immorality in our Churches.

The following is for those who take Jesus words seriously. It is a discussion which contains some helpful advice for those who want to be a good witness to Muslims.

I just think it's sad that Muslims are able to call a Christian denomination to task for selecting as a bishop a person who is probably not the best public face of Christianity. Those who love Jesus, especially church leaders, should make that love obvious to the world through obedience and by choosing leaders who exemplify that obedience rather than call it into question.

Jesus wants us to be one so that the world may know that we belong to him. The Episcopals had to know how much opposition existed to their move among many members of universal Church.

I wonder if the good liberals who make up the Episcopal denomination thought about the message they were sending when they accepted this person as a bishop.
