Today y 11 year old son was called a racist because we do not support Obama. So now we have children who are being indoctrinated into this hateful attacks and being taught to use the race card.

I just read your post and went and asked my 13 year old if this kind of thing happens at her school. I asked her if the kids at school ever talk about politics and if so does anyone ever say that the ones who do not support BHO are against him because they are racists? Her answer, "Yes, that is all they ever say."

I will be calling the school in the morning. This cannot stand. It is evident that the largest reason Obama has support is because of his skin color and not because of his policies.

That seems very odd, as one must search out an Obama supporter here. There are 20 McCain signs for every Obama sign. In the public schools, when the subject is discussed, it is done in a civil manner.

    That's a raciest remark.

Actually what is racist is voting for a man because of his skin color. My comments are simply stating fact.

As you should. Name calling, for any reason, needs to be dealt with by the parents and the school.

I don't believe we need to call the school over every little issue but this could start race battles and should not be allowed to spread.

There are some reports here in OR that teachers are telling kids how great Obomba is.

When my kids were in middle school in the 70's they were being taught that Socialism was a great system of government.

    Two words for you, Rev.:

    Home School!

Especially through middle school when the kids foundations in ethics and politic are being formed. If I only knew when my eldest in MS what I know now, she wouldn't have suffered through it. My youngest will never darken the door.

Rev, I agree it's sad what these children are doing but are you being a good example with your statement? How can you belittle most who vote for Obama to say it is only because of his skin color?

Two wrongs don't make a right...

It is hard to belittle those who support the slaughter of unborn children and the hideous act of leaving born children after a failed abortion to die unattended in a linen closet. They have lowered themselves.

I agree that your son should not be called racist for not supporting Obama if that is actually what happened. If so, it should be dealt with.

But it is also our parental responsiblity to teach our children not to be racist in our disagreements.

No it wasn't but yours is most certainly can be construed as a remark toward Revm. as an ignorant one.

Besides the above side bar - Here in the South Dakota I have heard much of the same thing going on by the few kids I have asked. If you aren't an Obama supporter you are either a racist or a idiot. My information comes from some High school kids I asked about this after reading your post Revmitchell.

However, I say that the kids are really getting their info from their their parents, and what their parents consider to important issues they will repeat.

This is just as racist a statement as telling someone they are a racist because they will not vote for Obama.

The above statement is saying that most people who are voting for Obama are voting because of his race.

A reverse racist statement is just as racist as the orginial statement.

Both statements are insulting to those who are voting for the candidate they support because of the stances those candidates are taking .... not because of race.
