I hope you're right Rev, but I'm afraid the ultra liberals like McLaren and Spong will jump on comments like this and convince several in our churches today that it's totally acceptable to be gay and Christian.

McLaren has been isolated and is no longer taken seriously either except by the few wackos left like him. He has been exposed sufficiently. I have no idea who the other person is.

I hope you're right about McLaren. The other guy is John Shelby Spong of the Jesus Seminar flavor.

So, Elton John is the source of MacLaren and Spong's unbelief?

I think it is the other way around. These "theologians" give the power to an idiot like John to say something like this.

A few years ago, people were saying that the Lord Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married... The source is man's heart of unbelief.

If I ever even hear anything by EJ it is totally by accident. Knowing he said anything other than he got saved and repented of sodomy is trash. Anyone willing to follow him is following his sin, not following Christ. I even cringe at hearing his oldtime songs from when I was very young because of his being a sodomite.

Seriously? No more effect than the last time someone claimed Christ was h*mo, married or the like. Even unbelievers don't believe that for long.

Christ is capable of preserving His own reputation without our have to do anything more to defend it than we already do.

Shake you head sadly at the waste of such an enormous talent and pray for his soul. Its all we can do.

So true! So many liberal theologians and preachers have and are leading so many in the wrong direction. We are what we are taught and believe.

As for Elton John, I know who he is but I don't think I've ever heard any of his music. He is a lost man who needs to accept Jesus Christ as his Savior, or that is how he looks to me.

I believe that Elton will influence some as well as lib's like I mentioned. I believe they will influence the visible church, but not the invisible church. The true invisible church needs to be light that shines upon the church as a whole. This will help to distinguish the sheep from the goats, and also to extinguish the darkness that has been shed upon and within the church as of late. I just don't see many Christian men standing up today in individual churches (self included).

One thing true about Christ's sheep......
John 10:5 But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice."

I am sure that a few lost people will listen to him, just as lot of people listen to Oprah and others as if they have some inside knowledge since they are rich and famous....

I will never have the opportunity to present the Gospel to Elton John, but I will pray that somehow, some day, before he dies, he will hear the truth and it will set him free. Miracles do happen. But I believe the Bible, and if he doesn't repent and believe, he will burn in hell.

One of the highlights? That says a lot concerning how degenerate our society has become.

Looking at that photo of EJ and "Lady Ga Ga" (whoever she is) made me want to throw up. Both of them looked like freaks, and I dont want to know what those things were on top of the piano.

    Come quickly Lord Jesus

who listens? homosexuals who go to church, who are in churches who support homose*uality, who teach theres nothing wrong with it. thats who listens. for some reason celebrities have power, and people will listen, this is one of the reasons behind oprah's success, and there are celebrities who are christian science, or green, and they being famous give credence to thier view by being famous, this si why some are so out spoken about what ever they beleive in or are a part of.
    so someone is listening.
now the average church like we all go to, this kind of thing has no effect.

Christians can be deceived and many are. The NT warns believers over and over against false teachers and in 2 Cor. Paul admonishes the Corinthians for falling for some of these false teachings. The early Gnostics and others infiltrated the church early on.

In churches were God's word is preached in love but without apology and where doctrinal purity isn't an option but an expectation there will be few who would fall for such non-sense. But where ears are tickled this will only serve to further their departure from the truth.
