1804 KJV – “flesh lusteth after the spirit” (instead of against the spirit)

1805 KJV – “to remain” was added to text; editor’s note not to cut out a word

1806 KJV – “standing fishes” (instead of standing fishers)

1806 KJV – “I discharge you” (Paul to Timothy instead of charge)

1810 KJV – “He that hath ears to ear” (instead of hear)

1810 KJV – “hate his father and mother and his own wife” (instead of life)

I would also like to see the same exact kind of list for every other Bible out there especially the ASV. OR do you just enjoy throwing garbage on ONE version?

No one has claimed the ASV is perfect, Jim. Nor any other bible translation...'ceptin' the KJV.

At leaset I am willing to admit up front that there are mistakes in any "modern version" you want to choose.

In Christ,

This list alone destroys the KJVO myth about Psalm 12:6-7.

"OR do you just enjoy throwing garbage on ONE version?", av1611jim

Umm since when is a fact garbage Jim? How did he throw garbage by simply pointing out facts?

The fact is that not a single KJVO that I have ever meet is a true AV1611KJVO. They all use the "corrected" 1762 or 1769. Some may even use the 1873 and don't know it LOL!

Will this ever end and will we ever know which KJV is perfect?

Things that are different are not the same

Hmmmm. Jim calls my factual listing of errors as "garbage". He knows the KJV better than me.

Comon' man, I said these were typos. Just proving that any KJV is not "perfect" with the typesetters around in this world!!

Anyone claiming the ASV1901 is the ONLY Bible? I didn't think so.

Oh no! Are you an ASVonly?

Which one. The divine 1901 original or one of the later modern "perversions" that are suspect because they were printed when hippies >did you read that? HIPPIES< were running around!!

It is evident that ANYONE who doesn't understand CANNOT understand that the ASV is the ONLY Bible for today in AMERICA!

Hint:AMERICAN Standard Version.

I still prefer the KJV.
Among several reasons, Its hard enough for the congregation to follow me(I use many verses preaching:) with one version let alone 100 different ones. Now that the southern baptist have their own HCSB, I expect the Methodist, Presbyterian, and Luthern to come out with theirs soon, so everyone will have many to chose from ;)

Bob,
In your original list you give typos as your proof for errors, now in Psalm 12:6,7 we read:
6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times .
7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

Does not the verse say purified seven times??? Wouldn't that make the very purpose of the list, for lack of a better word, superflous??? The verse says God purified his word seven times, who am I or anybody else to tell God how to do his business.

Pr 21:30 ¶ There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.

So, G2G are you saying that God's Word was not pure in His first 6 attempts to give it to us?

Purified 7 times? Been a whole lot more revisions of the KJV than that!

BUT LET'S NOT GO THERE ON THIS THREAD! This was designed to be fun, to see some typesetting errors that really sent shock-waves through Christianity.

"Thou shalt commit adultery". Not THAT will preach!

This is a simile. Notice the word like. God's words are pure, like silver that has been tried in a furnace, purified seven times (refering to silver and not God's words). God's words did not have to be purified any number of times (and they have not been). English 101 may help you.

I can see it now. But God, complains the KJVO, it must be ok because my word/letter perfect KJV said thou Shalt commit ..., so I did. And since I could hold that KJV in my hand, I had no need to read any other Bible. :D
