Libertarian is nothing but a wasted, protest vote. Like tossing the entire roll or toilet paper down the toilet for no reason then to see it disappear.

Every vote for a Libertarian candidate reinforces the view that many people want a third party. Poll most people in the country and you'll find they are quite libertarian, but they've been brainwashed into thinking that they have to be Republican or Democrat.

There was a bit of a grassroots push in Georgia by the Libertarian Party to at least achieve a certain voting percentage, as it would force the political system to recognize the party during debates. That's what many libertarians are pushing for: recognition on the national stage at debate time. Otherwise, you have the largest third party in the nation being shut out by the two-party insiders. Just look what the RNC did to the libertarian contingent led by Ron Paul at the 2012 National Committee meeting. (This is Esquire's account, and Esquire isn't exactly conservative-friendly, and even they felt bad for Ron Paul and his supporters.)
