    Do any of you have knowledge of and/or information on the Evangelical Free Baptist Church? The Evangelical Free Baptist Church was incorporated in DuPage County, Illinois, (June, 1978) after having withdrawn from the Southern Baptist Convention due to a doctrinal dispute. I think their headquarters may be in Addison, Illinois.

    What was the dispute?

    What is their current status? doctrinally? numerically? geographically?

    No answer, brother, but just to let you know it isn't such an odd bird -- I am a Baptist (as you know) and interim pastor at an Evangelical Free church! :D

    And they like me, they really like me! :eek:

    Maybe this is some with similar leanings. Or just a former SBC church that wanted to stand on its own hind legs . .

    What is an Evangelical free church? I've heard some about them, but what do they believe?
    are they some reformed baptist group, or are they another denomination?
    i wasn't sure, so i wondered if anyone else knew.
