Exorcism

My first question would be, why?

I would investigate the situation.

Demonic possession is indeed real, and christians do indeed have the ability through Christ to cast out demons.

 

I would be absolutely, beyond a shadow of a doubt sure there was no psychiatric explanation for it first. Many psychiatric disorders can seem like demonic possession, and some strains of those disorders can actually have the patient believe they are demon possessed when medication and therapy would relieve the symptoms.

 

There's not enough to go on to give an answer.

If the person calling wanted an exorcism for themselves, I would seriously doubt they were demonized. The last thing a demonized person would want is contact with a Christian who knows they have authority over demons.

However, I would set up a meeting and see how I could minister to this person. If demons manifest themselves in the course of ministering to this situation, then I would deal with it as led by the Spirit. However, I extremely skeptical of most "demonic" behavior since humankind has an incredible capacity for sinning on our own and various physical and mental conditions sometimes make people think there are external forces affecting them.

It has been 21 years since I last faced the demonic in a "power encounter."
