The league is open for business:

    http://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/b1/

    At present, BB members only.

    League is Baptistbd
    Password is apollos.

I added some additional stat categories. I'd like for a player's defense to come into play, so I added FP. I wanted to add assists, putouts to this instead. What do you think? Don't want to make it all about the plate. They wear a glove more than they hold the lumber.

Head to head. Live draft is set for March 15 at 11:00 am due to NCAA tourney and other conflicts. That's the Sat before Palm Sunday. Let me know if there's a huge conflict with this time. We might could do a weeknight but it's just a lot harder to do.

Actually, the NCAA tourney starts the next week. But conference tourneys will be in swing. I can move that start time later if necessary. Or a bit earlier in the day. Speak quickly!

That time is good for me. I am currently three hours ahead of eastern time so if you have the draft in the evening its real late for me.

And ditto the league id# We need it to sign up.

    Mr. Commissioner?

The current mix of categories (O/D/P)* is 12/1/8. You could drop OPS and TB for Assists and Putouts, resulting in a 10/3/8 split, which may be a more desirable split to you. Regardless, I'm ready to go.

    * - Offense/Defense/Pitching

FP is already in. My only question is that they have categories for Assists and one for Outfield assists. So do Outfield assists count double? I'm wating for clarification from Yahoo.

By the way, I'm toying with us doing a draw for the draft order as opposed to letting the computer pick the order for us just prior to the draft. Since the draft is serpentine, you can strategize where you want to pick. Some people would like the #1 overall pick, but then waiting 12 picks to pick again is not appealing to some. Plus, it adds a little strategy and a little something to it. I could draw out of a hat, or there are a couple of ways to do it random (one is using Excel to pick the order). Depends on if y'all like the idea and you trust me to draw names or not!

I promise I'm not trying to make this harder - just more fun!!

Tom, I like the idea of setting the draft order in advance of the day of the draft. I'm sure the method you choose will be fine with me.

Will we be able to trade positions with people if we want?

If you choose your position, you wouldn't really want to trade, would you?
I wouldn't oppose trading per se. But since we get a few late additions to our leagues, it wouldn't be practical to have a trading period since we have to have our teams set, have the "draw" for the order, and then give people time to select their selection spot.

Right now, five teams in. Let's get that number up. Where's Andy? Where are our regulars?

I guess maybe I am confused then. If you are drawing out of a hat how do we get to choose our position?

It really does not matter to me tho. I am good with whatever. Draft position in fantasy baseball is unimportant IMO.

Yes. If I draw your name first, you get to pick draft position 1 - 8 or whatever. Next person out of the "hat" picks next position, and so on until we have our order.

OAs do would count as an A and an OA. Makes sense in a way, since an OA is a little rarer to come by. So A, P, and OA are now stat categories.
