I remember back when I first came to the BB, a man told me I needed to get back in the kitchen and make cookies!

He didn't think women should be giving their opinions. He was banned that week.

Old Union Brother, you gotta be a little more thick skinned than that. I have been called a liar, a heretic, a Pelagian, my salvation has been questioned many times.

The Pharisees and other religious leaders accused Jesus (and the prophets and apostles) of sin regularly. If you speak the truth you can expect this type of treatment.

They never backed down and neither should you. I hope you will continue to post.

Why don't we both eat some cookies before we post, we would probably be in a better mood and not so irritable. Of course, being a diabetic, promise me you won't tell my wife.

Truly hate to see good friends opting away from the unique [is that the right adjective?] fellowship [is that the right noun?] that we know on the BaptistBoard.

Brother, I truly wish you would not leave us on account of this. I believe the short time you've been on board folks have grown to like and respect you. Maybe you're making too much of this? No one here actually considers you to be a liar. But I myself do not believe in the least of the validity of 'The Trail of Blood'. It is indeed fiction. Learn from it and move on. Your leaving is NOT going to be beneficial either to you or to us that remain here on the BB. Please reconsider.

I hope you reconsider too. Sometimes things are written that might not be said in person. Sometimes the words would sound less harsh if we could hear them said. Baptists are not always the most diplomatic :p

Frankly, I think the so-called "pastor" should resign his position, and not you resign from this board.

    Cheers, and bless,

    Jim

    Old Union Brother,

You are obviously not aware of a rule here at the Baptist Board, which I am invoking with this post.

Since you may not join the Baptist Board without permission from the Administrators, you also may not leave the Baptist Board without their permission. Further, you also must remain if there is any indication by some members that they want you to stay.

That provision has already kicked in, since a number of members have posted their sentiments in this thread. Therefore, you may not leave.

You are obviously a rules-obeying kind of guy, so I know you'll have no difficulty abiding by these rules, heretofore kept secret, to be invoked in just such an occasion as this.

    Besides, we like you.

I really hate to see you go. I always found your posts mature and insightful.

A conservative voice like yours that is tempered by wisdom like that which you display is special.

This is why I am fighting against ad hominem and pleading that the only onslaught be against arguments and not the arguers.
