Seems Mom was right after all. A lack of sleep leads to gaining weight, various health problems, and a lowering of mental acuity ... nicer words that fat, dumb and ill health.

But it is a problem and like it or not, we need to click off the "idiot tube" and get more sleep.

If it's from watching too much tv...sure.

That's not where mine stems from. (yeah, I admit, I'm getting more dumb as times goes by, just ask the kids! )

Let's see...go work teaching all day, come home and homeschool, cook for seven of us, clean, do laundry, get ready for the next day, greet hubby as he gets home, make lesson plans, Saturday go to Shabbat services for a few hours, do any shopping and stuff I couldn't do during the week, Sunday is spent at church and a couple hours choir practice then evening service, then it's back to work Monday.

Unless I glue a television to my forehead, I don't get to watch anything! I have one show I'd like to see, but I have to wait until I have time and hope it's available on the "watch for free" channel and I get to it while it's still there.

The automatic assumption that people have of anyone who doesn't weight two pounds is pretty encouraging though and really helps me feel great about meeting new people and trusting that they'll judge me on me instead of appearances.

Oh wait, that doesn't happen. :tonofbricks:

It is amusing here in NZ, the government is pursuing a policy to ban all tobacco smoking by 2015 or some such. I live in a poor area where smoking is prevalent, particularly amongst the young mothers with no husbands.

What happens when folk give up smoking, they tend to put calories into their mouths instead or more alcohol......:tonofbricks:
