Hi, my name is Julia, and I have a problem [IMG] . . .

There's hardly a Christmas song this gal doesn't like! LOL . . . to prove it, I've got a collection of about 40 or 50 Christmas CD's I've collected over the past 5 years of so . . . and this doesn't count the cassettes and the vinyl (I have started buying albums at the Goodwill and such places for about 99 cents each! I then transfer them to cassettes if I can).

My kids and I start listening to Christmas music in October. My husband thinks I'm a nut . . .

Seiously though, most CD's were obtained by joining a club or from getting CD's half price with no shipping charges through the club; sometimes I buy them at Big Lots or on clearence after Christmas. There is just something so special about Christmas music not to enjoy it to its fullest!

I've got all kinds . . . from the classics (Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Andy Williams (the latest addition to the collection) to choral music (Robert Shaw) to carols to, well, whatever!

But I have to admit that my very favorite CD is the music from the Charlie Brown Christmas special! That'll put you in the spirit for sure!

Christmas in Dixie by Alabama is one of my all-time favorites as well.

Now you know my deepest, darkest secret. :D

    Julia

P.S. OH, and a local radio station plays Christmas music 24/7 from mid-November until after Christmas! [IMG] Talk about a thrill for a Christmas music addict! ;)

Our digital cable company also has music stations and one of them just happens to be holiday music!

Besides the ones I mentioned above---and a host of Christian Christmas music--I love Alabama's Christmas in Dixie, too, also!

My wife and I take the kids to see Grandmaw over in Alabama--sometimes we get to go a few days before Christmas and actually get to spend Christmas day with them---nothing beats traveling down Highway 280 in Birmingham down to Harpersville--up and over "Double Oak" Mountain--freezin' cold(at least for this Cajun boy!!) outside the car--and the DJ plays Alabama. And on Christmas Eve and Christmas Nite--when you can get out and go look at Christmas lights up and down the road there in Alabama--that DJ can keep playin' it over and over again, too!

"Goin' To Grandmaw's For Christmas!" by ole Squire Parsons is one of my favorites, too!!

    Your friend,
    Blackbird

PS--To my Canadian buddy---anything north of Memphis is considered Canadian territory!! But you have a Merry Christmas from the boys in Dixie!!

    Stubbornboy,

The song you are thinking of is "Happy Christmas (War is Over)," by John Lennon and Yoko Ono.

"I saw Mommy kissing Santa Clause".

    and "Santa Baby".

    Well...you asked. [IMG]

The one I enjoy singing the most is "Oh come, oh come, Emanuel"

And I love "Carol of the Bells" nothing says Christmas like that one... I don't even mind that it is used so much in the medea...It's just so pretty. [IMG]
