The pick-four-books thread gave me this idea.

Which Gospel is your favorite, and why?

I'll go first. I'd say my favorite is Luke. It's my favorite because of its writing style, its parables, and its emphasis on the poor and the downtrodden.

    What say you?

    John.

It is my favorite because of how focused it is on Christ and also the prayer of Jesus in John 17 is simply amazing!

I third John, he shows Christ in his Kingship.

John has to be it for all the already stated reasons... well i'll add one more. His sovereign grace shines through so powerfully. Without His sovereign grace... i'd still be as lost as I was before He changed my heart and called my name.

I love Luke for its depth of narrative, but I love John because it was my lifeline when I needed one. Does that make any sense to anyone?

I picked Mark. Mark shows the Savior in action. Instantly responsive to the will of the Father.

As much as I love John because it shows the deity of Christ so clearly (and John 1 is beyond compare, imo, for beauty of language in expressing the incarnation), my favorite is Matthew because it shows the fulfillment of OT prophecy so clearly, and because this was the book I was reading when I was saved. :love2:

    Mark....

It is an action packed, thriller that opens with Jesus jumping from the pages as a lion in action. I love action packed movies, and I think of Mark in this way.

Although I do enjoy reading Luke, I'll have to go with John as my personal favorite. It is centered on Jesus and I find myself rereading it more than any other.
