    Creflo Dollar

Seriously I would have to say that Charles Swindoll is my favorit of those in the national spotlight.

My true favorite was a local preacher/teacher I will call Bro. Terry. He pastored the church where I was raised for 3 years just before my wife and I got married. That was almost 20 years ago. Bro. Terry was the first pastor that made me feel comfortable coming to him with just the simplest Bible question. He showed a genuine love for God as well as a genuine love of people and a sincere love of the Bible. I have lost touch with Bro. Terry in the years since my wife and I married, but I sure would love to look him up sometime.

I think it's great to see that so many people are naming their own pastor. I think there is surely a place for Swindoll, Stanley and others (I think they are great), but the most influence seems to be gained at the local church level. This is great. God bless. [IMG]

I have heard John Randles speak on several occassions, have dined with him a few times as well. He is an excellent speaker and a really nice guy. If you ever get a chance to hear him or have him do a revival at your church you will be blessed

Well, I almost hate to just pick a few, but here goes...

    Lester Roloff
    Billy Kelly
    Maze Jackson
    Kent Hovind

My own pastors have been good as well. I am sure that there are others.

Those I shall list you will probably never have heard. My list does not include any of the "well-known" because while they may very well be well-known, I don't know them.

My grandfather Holman (who wnet to be with our Lord a few years ago - He passed along to me his simple wisdom and his unquestioning faith)

My father - who has taught me the value of generosity and determination; and by his example I am now confident to pass it along to my sons.

My step-mother - who, while working as a full-time high school teacher, taught me and my siblings about God and love and taking care of what needs taking care of - by being a mother of her own free will, not because she had to.

Mrs. Haas (my 7th grade geography teacher - she was hard - very, very hard - God gave me my first real taste of discipline through her)

Pastor Burns (he was pastor of Bel Aire Baptist Church, Gulfport, MS. His guidance, leadership and insight was instrumental in leading me to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ)

SSgt Deagostino (he was my supervising Non-commissioned Officer and trainer in aircraft maintenance while I was stationed in the UK. He was a very difficult man to get along with; full of pride and carried high expectations. Through him God started me in earnest in lessons of perserverence and tolerance and forgiveness)

Pastor John Kermott (pastor of the First Baptist Church of Sterling, Illinois - he's my best friend and mentor)

Last, but not least, the following:

My wife - who has to deal daily with her own autism and OCD, teh demands of being my wife, and the nurturing of three young boys - teaches me more and more about forgiveness, devotion, and how to find that last spurt of energy at the end of a hard day.

    and

My three sons: Lee (age 4 and autistic), Donny (age 2) and Tandy (6 months) - who by just being themselves teach me everyday how to be more resourceful, more creative and more understanding - motivating me to continually seek God's will and God's way for not only my life, but the life of my family - not only for these generations, but for many more to come.
