Do we have any political talk radio people on here?

I listen to quite a bit at work and on lunch break. Here in Jacksonville, considering I don't pay for satellite or anything, I don't have too many choices.

But I am a Conservative, almost Libertarian .. so I listen to a lot of Neal Boortz .. I like Limbaugh too.

Hannity can be a little over the top for me at times.

Never really heard any Democratic or Liberal radio hosts, but then again I'm in North Florida and it's a highly Republican area, so I'm guessing no stations really pick any of those people up. But if there was one, I'd probably listen as well .. I like to listen to all the sides .. whether I agree or disagree.

    What about you all?

The best talk show is S.O.S. (School Of Scrutiny) with Bobby Tutton - but I am not on the air at the present time.

No seriously, I have been a talk show host. One of my sayings is "People know what they believe, but they don't know why they believe it."

I always sign off with "Remember, when you remain silent, you have spoken".

I too am a conservative, in fact, I am a member of the Conservative Party of New York. But like Jax, I also lean somewhat toward libertarianism.

Otherwise, I do like Glenn Beck and Rush.

ps anybody want to sponsor my show:thumbs:

Man .. I wikipedia'd Neal Boortz and didn't realize this stuff about him!

    Whooooooa....

I always wondered why he wouldn't field questions about abortion on his show .. among other things.

This IS Wikipedia and that doesn't necessarily mean all of that is true .. but for some reason, I think somebody would have edited it by now..

I watched a little of Glenn Beck on CNN before and thought he was OK .. now I watch his show on Fox News Channel and I love it.

    Rush is great too ..

I'm thinking of pulling back my support of Boortz however ..

I like Ron Reagan. Although I live in Texas, I am able to listen to him on my telephone with the I Heart Radio application. I also like Randi Rhodes.

There are three shows I catch portions of but don't like very much are Limbaugh, Hannity, and Levin.

For the past few months, I have been listening to Mark Levin. I download the podcast and listen the same night or the next morning at work. He is intelligent and passionate about conservatism. Give him a try. www.marklevinshow.com

Listen to Rush, he set the standard. Laura Ingraham is good. Wish Michelle Malkin had a show, she takes no prisoners. Does anybody know my Fox stopped having her host the Factor when the ignorant blowhard was vacationing?

Levin is the most ascerbic and hateful host I have ever heard. I listen once in a while to remind myself how much the radical right really hates their fellow countrymen.

I prefer real intelligence. I'd vote for Thom Hartmann. I also like Ron Reagan, Stephanie Miller, (both offspring of famous Republicans, BTW), and Ed Schultz.

So I guess I'm not a radical rightist, because I cannot stand Levin. I don't much care for Hannity either. At least Limbaugh is funny, and is critical of the GOP. I like Beck, because he slams both parties as well.

But I noticed the three you mentioned, along with Beck, Levin, Limbaugh & Hannity all have a lot of the same sponsors. What does that tell you ?

That companies will advertise wherever they can get customers. Capitalism plain & simple.

BTW, FWIW Curtis, I don't consider you a radical rightist.

I wish Tucker Carlson had a radio show. He was the sanest MSNBC guy, and out of all T.V. journalists, I liked him the most. Wolf Blitzer comes in second.

Guess you never heard Michael Savage (on the right) or Al Franken, Alec Baldwin (from the left).

I have heard Franken and Savage. Never knew Baldwin had a radio show. As bad as Savage is, I think Levin has him beat. As for Franken, I only heard bits and pieces of his show, and not very often.

While Ron Reagan is the son of one our best presidents ever, he is by no stretch as conservative as his dad was.

As for radio talk shows, I don't listen to many like I used to. While I don't agree with all of his views, I like listening to Neil Boortz. Rush Limbaugh is also good. I also enjoy listening to Sean Hannity & Laura Ingraham.

When I used to listen to talk radio a lot, I used to listen to Mike Reagan. None of our radio stations seem to carry his show anymore. He seemed more Republican than conservative anyway.

I also used to listen to Dr. Laura Schlessinger before her show was dropped.

Never said we claim him. Only that he is considered to be right leaning. His book "Liberalism is a mental disorder" clearly indicates he is not a leftist.

He doesn't lean to the right, he is tipping off the right edge!

There is a new talk show I enjoy is Redeye Radio with Doug McIntyre He is on from 1 am to 5 am EST. You can also listen to him on line.

When I can, I also enjoy Fred Thompson

and don't forget Fred Grandy - aka Gopher, Love Boat. Fred broadcasts out of WMAL - 630 AM dial, he is on the air 5 am to 9 am. The Station broadcasts at 10 KW daytime and 5KW at night. That translates to approximately 75 mile radius for day time and around 50 miles radius at night - unless you get some AM skip.
So those of you in the DC area - tune in and let us know what you think of Fred Grandy

I am not a big fan of any of the talk radio. Spending time listening to conservative and liberal radio, I find them both disgusting. I think there was only one person I liked listening to, but here is a list of some of those I have listened to and my thoughts.

Rush Limbaugh-- He is funny, but uses so many logical fallacies in his argumentation that it becomes difficult to listen to him.

Rachel Maddow-- I don't have television but when I heard her on Air America years ago, well, she needs God to come into her life and change her life. I cannot see how any Christian could listen to her show.

Sean Hannity-- The most annoying and verbally abusive host on radio and television

Glen Beck-- I loved him before he became popular and cooky. There was a time when I thought he was the most funny person on talk radio. This was way before CNN and now Fox. In fact, I commented that I thought he was better than Limbaugh for entertainment value (he was politics light back then, but had great insight on culture, and was just plain funny). I haven't listened to him in probably over a year and wish for the old Glen Beck back. I think he is forever lost to the dark side.

Bortz-- He is a libertarian so he is more respectful than the average left/right person. Yet, I can't take much of him.

Allen Combs-- I disagree with him, but he is not extremely divisive. Yes, I think there have been times he was rude to his guests and would not hear out arguments, but he is generally respectful.

Savage-- When I hear him, I turn him off.

Schultz-- Like Hannity, he uses too many strawmen and thus too irrational for my taste.

One I have actually enjoyed is William Bennett's program. Truly, it is a discussion and a conversation, not a badgering session.

I do not think I have listened to talk radio in over a years. I think most of these hosts needs to come to know Jesus as their Savior and people who take their worldview advise from them, should return to the Bible. They are unsaved and will approach life as non-Christians. I see no reason to listen to them and think America would be better off without them... both left and right.
