    Correct. I'm in my fifth year of study. I love it! I can communicate somewhat, although my grammer isn't always just right. To me, Spanish seems to be spoken fast, and I usualy have to ask them to slow down a little. I do wonderfully at Spanglish (a mixture of both languages, LOL) and it came in handy one day.
    In my town we have quite a few hispanic folk, and one day on visitation I ended up in the home of a very kind family...who spoke VERY LITTLE english. The lady invited me in, and her children gathered around me. I told her who I was, and why I was there. She begain in a mixture of English and Spanish to tell me about their family. She was receptive to the gospel, although her husband was not. He didn't however, refuse his wife the oppurtunity to hear. I read to her from my Spanish Bible. She said she wanted to be saved. In the back of my spanish Bible there is a sinner's prayer. She prayed for salvation! She and I were crying, and laughing and we couldn't stop smileing. The sad thing is we have no spanish church here. She could come to our church, but she knows so little english, and I don't know enough spanish to translate the sermon for her. That's what breaks my heart. Our church has seen many Spanish people saved, but there is no church here to teach them the Bible correctly.

    Piano, organ, and lap harp. I tried harmonica and guitar...but I almost drove my family insane. So I stick with the three I know, and maybe one day I'll play more.

    It is Well
    ^^^Story^^^
    Ok, one real quick story about "it is well" This hymn was written by a man named Horatio Spafford. This hymn was written after two major traumas in Spafford’s life. The first was the great Chicago Fire of October 1871, which ruined him financially (he had been a wealthy businessman). Shortly after, while crossing the Atlantic, all four of Spafford’s daughters died in a collision with another ship. Spafford’s wife Anna survived and sent him the now famous telegram, “Saved alone.” Several weeks later, as Spafford’s own ship passed near the spot where his daughters died, the Holy Spirit inspired these words. They speak to the eternal hope that all believers have, no matter what pain and grief befall them on earht

    I forgot to finish that. The song is great, I sing it in church all the time, and can't get through it without crying because of that story it's so touching to think that a man lost all his family but one and still managed to thank the Lord and have peace. Like Lot in the bible, Who lost his cattle his sheep all his children got boles from the top of his head all the way to the soles of his feet and would not denouce God. That is some great Faith in God.

    BTW I also like
    Santuary
    The old rugged cross
    Just as I am
    There is a fountain

    And I am having Abby's trouble, BTW It is well is my favorite too. As if you couldn't already tell.

    Abby,

    I speak Spanish but I've never studied it. I live on the border and go to school in Mexico so it is kinda hard not to learn it. [IMG] I love Spanish! I stink at spelling it b/c I never write it, I just speak it. Oh well. ;)

    Thanks for the website- I didn't know they were bluegrass!

    So what is eveyone's favorite song to play? And those who play more than one instrument, which is your favorite?

    "The Last Blood (Abby, do you have music to it??)"
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    My pastor's wife went to glory back in September, some of you may not know. It's been hard on us all, because she was precious to us. I've not had a mother, but she came pretty close, so sometimes it's hard to talk about her and this song, but I'll try...and maybe I won't cry! Mrs Joyce used to sing before every service, and oh could she sing! But everyone at church always wanted her to sing "The Last Blood." No one can sing it like she could. When she sang that, everyone came unglued. People'd get to shouting so loud you couldn't hear anything, and she'd start the song over. We'd cry and shout, and there'd just be a special pressence whenever she sang it. When she got sick she couldn't sing anymore it broke our hearts. Well, she kept on to me. She wanted me to sing it. I did solos on Sunday nights and she wanted me to sing it. I kept saying I couldn't sing her song. I couldn't do it justice. Surely not me! But she kept on. She wanted me to do it, so I fianly said I'd do it. I was given a CD of her singing it to practice with. (I have not sung it since she passed away, and I sincerly doubt I ever will again at this church) I must say, since she's gone home, I treasure that CD. So you can't have it! :D [IMG] ;) but I would be glad to burn you a copy of it, and could mail it to you. I don't have sheet music, or a sound track, but if you're just wanting to learn it, I'll be glad to send you a copy. I'll have to get a blank CD and that might take me a few days, but if you do want a copy send me a PM here.
    ~Miss Abby
    LOL, I ment to post my favorite to play above, but replied before I'd typed...(If I Only Had A Brain)
    Sunday night, for the first time in about two and a half years I played a song for the church. See, I wrote a poem last year about the blood of Jesus. I never thought I'd put it to music...but I did. SURPRISE! Especialy since I don't read music, and play everything by ear. I wrote it out in letters (I'm porbably the only one that could decipher those letters and dots on that sheet music! [IMG] :D :eek: ) and played it till I could sing it in my sleep. It's been ready for several months now, but I was chicken. I get made fun of a lot. I know people don't mean harm, but playing piano is something I don't want to be laughed at about, so I dug in my heals about it.
    Then about three weeks ago when I opened my Bible it fell open in the Psalms. I read the first verse on the page, and I about dropped my Bible. "Ps 149:1 Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints."
    One thought kept going through my mind "I gave you a new song, why won't you sing it in the congregation of the saints?"
    It drove me up the wall. Everytime I'd go up to the church to play during the week, or everytime I'd play at the house (when no one was here!) that verse would run through my mind.
    By the end of the week I was worn down. I thought "Now Lord, I'll be so nervous my knees will knock so hard I won't be able to control the pedels, but I'll do it." So I sang it and played it straight for the past two weeks. Sunday I was a nervouse wreck, untill I realized I needed to trust my Lord.
    So last Sunday night with the help and strength of the Lord I played and sang all four verses to "That Wonderful Blood Of Jesus."
    Now, I guess I would have to say, it's my definate favorite to play on piano! [IMG]
