In researching for a Bible lesson on David and Bathsheba, my search turned up a site. These are folks who seem to get the basic Gospel right, but there's this one issue...they believe in "social nudity." Don't get excited, there are no pictures there. They seriously present their Biblical apologetic for this practice. I couldn't quite believe that such a thing existed. Comments, anyone?

They need to read Merlin Carothers Book, "What's On Your Mind?"

I find it incredibly hard to believe that any Christian Male could refrain from lusful thoughts in such a situation...

Theoretically Possible? Yes... In *Theory*. :D

I say that because when missionaries go to primitive tribes they don't seem to have *real* difficulties in *that* setting.

But, among peers... As strong as 2 Corinthians 10:4-6 is in my life... Among peers I am not at all convinced I could maintain control over my thought life.

    Oxymoron? Absolutely!

Goes to prove that you can twist Scripture into almost anything, and as long as it is given an air of "scholarlyness" some folks will take you seriously.

Brings to mind the "Christian" homosexuals, who may get everything else right, except that "one little issue."

Gen-3-21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

When Adam and Eve discovered the forbidden fruit and ate it, God made them clothes, because their eyes had been opened, and among other things, they knew they shouldn't go around naked!

So how folks can get that screwed up is beyond me.

    Oxymoron? You betcha Granny!!!

I believe Adam and Eve wore a robe of light in the same way that the Angels do. We don't see the fig leaf until they sin. Clearly appearing naked was a mark of shame -- it was the sin of Noah's son to see his father's shame and not show the proper response. God was not going to be shaming Adam and Eve before the Angels and Satan while in their unfallen state.

    In Christ,

    Bob

Apparently, one doesn't think twice about it, if one is brought up that way. There are/were societies where people don't think anything of it. But I have serious doubts that any person brought up in American society could every get fully used to it.

The Israelites seem to have been exceptionally nervous about nudity. I see no evidence whatever that anything in the OT supports the idea at all. Can't think of anything in the NT, either.
