Mixed feelings, I say. You're both excited and nervous, excited because its your first and nervous because its your first.

Praise God that God used your first sermon to bring His home.

The most effective sermon is often the one we think the worst. God makes the imperfect perfect and achieves His end.

    Cheers,

I want to thank each of you for your comments, they have been helpful, humerous, and encouraging.

I did preach today and think it went well. My sermon title was "At the feet of Jesus," and I looked at Mary, Lazarus' sister being at the feet of Jesus as a student (Luke 10:39), Mary at the feet of Jesus as a servant (John 12:3), and Mary as a saint worshipping Jesus (John 11:32). It lasted about 25 minutes or there abouts.

After the service a number of people came and thanked me for preaching and said that maybe I could come back sometime. I think that one of the biggest lessons I learned today is that prayer works, there were people praying for me all over town, as well as those here who committed to pray and it made a big difference, I was less nervous preaching today, than I have been teaching some Sunday School classes.

God is good, thank you again.
    Brian

Sounds like you have three sermon ideas there! Should you ever pastor, you'll find that this would make a great series! (I noticed the alliteration, too)!

The LK 10 passage comparing Mary and Martha is one of my favorites.
