    But to SEE the US one must drive across it in various directions. I have been in all the lower 48 except Maine, also the lower provinces of Canada. By motorcycle is better - you can then smell and sometimes taste America.

    In 2002 we drove from the East Coast to Oregon and then back. On the way West we took a northerly route and a southerly one on our return. We exclaimed over and over, it is all beautiful, just in different ways.
