do you believe that this board is just a bunch of vain questions that get no where.

I thought that is what this board was for or is there some other reason for it being here?... Oh no there is another foolish question  ... Brother  Glen

After skimming through a book with these two topics I came to the conclusion that
"NO" Adam was not conceived from a woman, so therefore he has no bellybutton
And It is "assumed" that Cains took one of his sisters to wife.

Ok I have one for you,did the dinosaur mentioned in Job 40 become extinct before or after the flood?

    In Christ,

In my brief sojourn I have found the board to be more edification of the Body, support for our Brothers and Sisters in Christ, and rightly dividing the Word of God. The forum can deteriorate into vain repetions and strife, unless one withdraws, and seeks more to glorify our precious Lord Jesus Christ.

There is much wisdom available in our precious Brothers and Sisters, and a marvelous diversity of experience and perspective. On the board there are gathered fantastic credentials of ministry, collective centuries of study in His Word, and a vast resevoir of experience in serving our Lord by serving others. If one could be quick to listen and slow to speak, one can learn a great deal.

May God so bless His precious children.

    A servant of Christ,
    Drew

Why do you think it's a dinosaur?

Sorry, Glen, I posted without thinking. What am I saying? I always post without thinking; if I thought about it, I wouldn't post.

Back on issue - YES, there are many foolish questions, some engendering strife. But in my thinking, the real foolish question is the one that is not asked.

We have many folks at various stages of spiritual growth. What might seem basic or inane could be of great import to one that is still "on the bottle" or milk of the Word.

So NO, don't stop asking questions. It is a blessing to learn and to share with Baptist brethren from around the globe, folks we have learned to respect and love.

And Canadians, too . . .

humm, maybe we'er not reading the same posts. There is much a person can learn on the BB when they are open to learning. People ask questions when they want to know something, thankfull there are a lot of patient people on the BB who don't mind sharing what they have learned. A lot of open discussion on biblical topics, that do very much edify. So the answer to your questio is, no.

    Yes and No.

Yes, there are threads that end up becoming just that, foolish repetitive and getting nowhere. I have had to take breaks recently to discipline myself from becoming involved in such threads. Not only do they go nowhere, but the frustration and irritation that comes from having had to repeat yourself for the umpteenth time is not edifying to myself or anyone else.

I am going to try this time around, to speak the truth as I see it in the Word, but keep from letting it become a ping pong match. There does come a time when we must move on.

No. With that said above, I also have learned a lot from coming to this board and have actually changed my beliefs upon issues as I have been challenged to further examine what the Bible has to say about them.

There are people here that I have come to greatly respect because they were willing to share the truth in love. Thanks to them, I learned some new things that have greatly impacted my life.

I have also had a lot of issues that I have remained steadfast upon and these discussions have helped to strengthen my beliefs. My knowledge has increased as I have been challenged to prove my beliefs with the Word of God. I have been able to more effectively and clearly state what I believe not only here, but in real life. It has actually helped me in my witnessing and sharing with those around me, for after you type it all out, it sort of sticks with you!

So, the answer can be yes and no, but if we all keep that verse in mind we can keep it on the positive side and avoid those foolish arguments. But alas, we are all human, thankfully God knows that. He is patient as we all grow in His grace and he can bless the time here for all us!

I don't think its so much as we don't get anywhere, as we weren't going anywhere to begin with. [IMG]

Seriously, I really enjoy talking with everyone on this board, and discussing the Bible. I enjoy praying for those I have never met in person.

I think there is good fellowship amongst Christians here, even when we all have gotten a little huffy.

I think there are times when we ask questions we really do have the answers to...but we enjoy so much having the time together...that we ask anyway. Then there are times when we really do wonder about something, and everyone else thinks its a trick question. [IMG] And it really isn't. Then rather show our lack of knowing we go along with the joke. I have seen this several times on the board by some really smart people.

But then there are those really sincere times when we really want to know....or we really want to share those things we learned....or we just aren't sure.

I have seen some very humbled people on this board. I have seen some humbled people pushed into a corner....and I have seen those humbled people stay humbled.

I have seen some very mean and Judgemental people on this board too. They are bitter and cold. They say things in haste, and then are stuck with it because all is in writing. Some stick to their guns, and some leave. But I have seen too where some hearts have softened.

I have seen where if some words could cry, grown men and women cry. I have seen brotherhood and sisterhood. I have seen fellowship at its best. And I have said at times this is how our church should be.

I have met people from other cities, states, and countries, and my love for them is strong. I wish I could give everyone of them a hug.

There are some very smart people on this board. There are some very good debaters on this board. There are some who just like to bicker. And I read them all. And when I go to bed at night....Well I pray for them all.

"Just a bunch of vain questions that get no where?" Maybe. Maybe not.

A Big Cyber Hug To You All!

    Sherrie

I think before I would get into da dino sewer thinggy I might have to go "bone" up awhile first.... [IMG]

May God bless, and help us first to listen well, and then to study to show us approved, rightly dividing His awesome Word.
