Before a crowd of 90,043 fans at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Saturday night, the seventh-ranked Gator football team kicked off its 100th season in style with a 34-7 victory over the Southern Miss Eagles. The triumph increased UF's consecutive season and home-opening winning streak to 17, and improved Head Coach Urban Meyer's record to a perfect 7-0 in The Swamp. In addition, the 1996 National Championship team was honored during pre-game festivities in celebration of its 10-year reunion.

On Saturday September 9, 2006 the Forida Gators defeat UCF playing their 2nd string teams for a large portion of the 4th quarter ending in a 42-0 shutout.

Greatest teams of college football history came out of the heartland....came out of Nebraska....to all the bug eaters out their this one is for you and for mitchell perhaps you can get katherine harris to run the gators after she loses.

I'm kind of upset that Troy didn't pull off the victory over Fla. State. I'm sure Gator fans share my sentiment.
