One does not need to know all the delicate or debatable points of Scripture to know Christ in His perfection.

The Bible does not equal Jesus. Jesus supersedes the written Word.

Thank you for the reference to Dr. Lee Roberson.

I just listened to an audio of his sermon Get Right with God at Dr Lee Roberson--Man of God. He must have been a great preacher and educator.

Then, PLEASE, and I mean that sincerely, don't be a part of it. I really do try to respect you and others who I may not see eye to eye with, and if I've offended you in any way, I ask you to forgive me. I just don't enjoy seeing brothers and sisters "bicker" over things. And, YES, I've been guilty myself. God forgive me.

I have not been a part of it. My conscience is clear.

He was. I count myself to have been blessed to sit under his leadership.

Footnotes in Translations: Good or Bad?

Does every thread have to become a kjv only argument not related to the OP? This is about if footnotes are good or bad for translations to have. Should they have places where it says that a portion in the text might not have originally been there, or have some text in footnotes only. Is this a good practice to have or a bad one? The KJV does this(a few times) as well as the modern versions(a lot more than the KJV does). Should translators let the reader know of the variants. Remember, variants are there. Pretending they are not doesn't make them go away.
