Here is the definition of kosmos which fits perfectly with what the Lord Jesus said at John 17:

"the ungodly multitude; the whole mass of men alienated from God, and therefore hostile to the cause of Christ...Jn. xvii. 14, 16" (Thayer's Greek English Lexicon).

Now please give me the name of the expert which supports the meaning that you are trying to place on kosmos. You have had numerous opportunities to provide the name of your expert but so far you have not given us a name.

The definition of kosmos has many definitions in scripture:

) an apt and harmonious arrangement or constitution, order, government

    2) ornament, decoration, adornment, i.e. the arrangement of the stars, 'the heavenly hosts', as the ornament of the heavens. 1 Pet. 3:3

    3) the world, the universe

    4) the circle of the earth, the earth

    5) the inhabitants of the earth, men, the human family

    6) the ungodly multitude; the whole mass of men alienated from God, and therefore hostile to the cause of Christ

    7) world affairs, the aggregate of things earthly

    a) the whole circle of earthly goods, endowments riches, advantages, pleasures, etc, which although hollow and frail and fleeting, stir desire, seduce from God and are obstacles to the cause of Christ

    8) any aggregate or general collection of particulars of any sort

    a) the Gentiles as contrasted to the Jews (Rom. 11:12 etc)

    Do you understand # 8 ?

Does not this definition LIMIT the term world to something less than every man without exception as many when Jesus said this were exceptions to this rule! He did pray for those given him and for those who would be saved did he not? Is this world the same world in John 3:16???

Hence, this defintion does not support all men without exception in this passage does it?

You still have not provided a definition for the use of world by John in 1 Jn 2:15

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Is this the SAME world of John 3:16 that God so loved?
