    Holy cow! I don't need to re-read the article! :eek:

    I'm not convinced that just because some fan fiction sites, as well as some "other fan sites" (of which I'm sure there's no shortage of intermingled audiences) had speculated on the guy's sexuality that his "gayness" was obvious from reading the books. There's the same kind of speculation about characters in the Lord of the Rings (and probably many other works of fiction), but they're not tarnished as a result.

    As I pointed out, the director of the sixth movie, and presumably the screenwriter(s), editor(s), etc. didn't think it was so obvious.

    One is tolerable because adults "consent," and one is intolerable because a minor consents? You're the twisted one. Homosexuals and pedophiles are both sexual deviants. From a Christian point of view, they're equally abominable in the sight of God.

    But God's point of view has never really been the focus of your posts, has it.

    Your smarmy ad hominems mean nothing. Two adults engaging in consensual activity is their own doing. A pedophile victimizes an innocent child. Again, if you cannot see the difference, something is truly twisted in your thinkiing. God's point of view doesn't equal YOUR point of view.

    I understand about 'speculation' cast out just to tarnish or demean without any proof. But THAT is not what we have here. We have the author of the books CONFIRMING the speculations of her fans.

    Yet, the author of LOTR's (J.R.R. Tolkien) did not come out afterward and say any of his charactors are gay nor that it was his intended purpose to include such in the depiction of any of his charactors.

    So when did the 'director of the sixth movie' say this? (not that he didn't, I'm just curious)
    Secondly - Did he read all of her books? Since this is where you will find it, not in the screenplays.

    To 'presume; to what the screenwriters knew WITHOUT them saying anything about it, is purely silly.

    This IS NOT ABOUT the Movies, but the books - There IS a difference you know.

    Only if we find a letter from Tolkien stating 'guess what guys, Frodo is actually gay'.

    But since that is what Rowlings did and not Tolkein there is no comparison.

    I read every book - there was never any mention of D's sexuality ANYWHERE. I believe the actor that portrayed Dumbledore was gay - is that what the artilce is saying?

    BTW. I really enjoyed the books :)

    I have not read them, but have no problem with them either. I also find this fascination of homosexuals by some Christians to be very curious and perverse.

    No one said the books mention's Dumbledore's sexuality specifically. It alludes to it in various places.

    But if you would read the article (it is about a page - more life half with all the adverts) Ms. Rowlings declares that Dumbledore is gay, of which many fans have suspected.
