I'm surprised that there is not a Worship forum - particularly on a Baptist board.

Surely the "Music Ministry" forum is not supposed to fulfill this function?

We know that worship is much more than music. There is prayer, offering gifts, teaching/preaching, practicing the ordinances and others that may or may not be appropriate and need some discussion and testing against the Spirit and the Word.

    What say ye?:)

    John 4:23-24
"But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

Doesn't Prayer Requests and Praise sort of cover it?

If a Worship Forum is created, could be put in the Debate section.

    Future Thread Titles might include:

    1. Proper Prayer Posture.
    2. It's Communion Juice, stop whining (20 pages)
    3. Poll: How many times do you worship per week?
    4. What to do with those hand-raisers in church.
    5. Warning by Administration: No praises for sexually related items.
    6. Holy Worship Hymns verses Hip-hop Rock (moved to Music section)
    7. Offerings: How much does your left hand really give?
    8. Baptist Board Enemys I pray for
    9. Do Calvinists really need to worship?
    10. Can you believe this RW says, "Worship me, not god".

Now that you mention those possibilities, I'm even more in favor of the forum!

I'd be in favor of that... or maybe just changing the "Music Ministry" forum to a Worship Forum?

The modern misconception that "worship = music" has even permeated the BB?? Wonder what song the Magi sang when seeing the young lad? ;)

They worshiped by their offerings. Dr W A Criswell (my pastor years back) used to say that the only "worship" in the FBC Dallas Sunday Worship Service was taking the offering!

We would kneel down to give. (They had kneelers in a Baptist church).

Worship should be a part of every thread. And God knows we don't need MORE threads to try to moderate! :)

I will bow to the board administrators - I hope there was not the misunderstanding that I equated worship = music - it was actually my intent that Worship (corporate and private) could be decouple from the popular misconception and discussed. I also agree that worship should saturate every aspect of the believer's life, but that there should be a distinction between private and family worship and corporate worship.

That is - there are similarities, but there are also distinctions - what are they and why does it matter?

    Oh, well...
