hi all. dont know if you've seen this yet. probably have.

but i wouldn't mind trying this out in this city as a witnessing experience with the youth group.

    what're your thoughts?

not with a youth group, no. Let me tell you my reaction as a momma....k? If some guy (or gal nowadays) wanted to hug MY teen walking down the street holding a sign like that? They'd have the imprint of my purse upside their head.

I know it's meant to "break the ice" or get people to feel better, but it smacks of somebody lookin' to get way too close to my kids physically.

Now, take the youth group part out of it.........and no, Id have the same basic reaction. Im not huggin' strangers, and I think it sends the wrong message if coupled with an attempt to pass out tracts.

Just hand them to people, there's no need to offer "free hugs" along with them.

Bad idea with a youth group... too many perverts out there wanting to hug teen girls..... I'm not willing to put my teen girls through that...

Bad Idea for adults... what would be the point?

My computer won't download this. Is this supposed to be a Christian doing this as a witnessing tool?

I saw something like this on tv the other day, but it wasn't mentioned that Christians were doing it. It made me think of an old hippie in Atlanta whose name was Free Hugs.

    ---

bapmom... i then apologize for having some compassion and actually literally shedding a few tears at the end the the video.

i apologize for loving to give hugs and also to receive hugs.

if i could edit my first post i would not have even started the topic.

    forgive me please.
i'll now go have some sleep cause i'm tired.
    ---

    God bless you.

(if it sounds like i'm being sarcastic in any way - i'm not)
but this is not a forum for debate. so i shall stop here.
