I having a bit of a difficult time grasping exactly what that phrase means in Romans 1:17.

For in it [the gospel(I think)] the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith...

So, what do you think "from faith to faith" means in that verse?

the term 'from faith to faith' means it begins and ends with faith. That is why the NIV and some of the other modern translations try to clarify it by writing, "For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith, from first to last, just as it is written: 'The righteous will live by faith.'"

I have always thought of this verse as a Christian growth passage. By God's grace through faith (Eph. 2:8&9) we are saved. Very well, we are saved. But is this saving faith all that we will need in our Christian life? Will it be sufficient against our three great enemies, that is, the world, the flesh and the devil? We have faith enough to trust Jesus as savior, but how about trusting Him in every aspect of our lives?
Hebrews chapter 11 is the great faith chapter and verses 33 to 40 are very noteworthy. Abraham believed God about the birth of Isaac. But he had to really grow in faith that God would keep that promise, even if he sacrificed him!
