    Nice story.

"In the small neighborhood of Al Razul in east Baghdad, an Iraqi family of 17 people — including 10 children — had the bad, random luck of having their home located 100 feet away from where the insurgent mortar team set up."

It wasn't "random" at all. The insurgents are responsible for these unintended deaths.

Good story, and the answer is no you will not hear the liberal news air this story.

I talked to a soldier back from the war about a year or almost two ago now. He said he couldn't believe our news. He saw families and kids that were glad to have him there. Holding up "Thank you Mr. Bush" signs, but you will never see that on the news either.

CNN now has an entire program into showing the horrors of war inflicted on our soldiers. Not showing the job they are doing, or what is being done, just the damage at the military hospital there. It is an interesting show, but balanced reporting they are NOT.

Same old ..same old blame the media

Iraq is that bad if put on a scale of course their is about 16 tons of bad news with one ounce of good....it would be surreal to start comparing the both as even because they are not.

The 4th estate is doing their job, in the past it has been fairly poor because they have allowed the bush culture to hurt this nation...now they get blasted once they have seen the light and start telling it like it is.

Its the old playbook with right wingers always blame the media when things are not going their way or the press does not put out a bunch of unrealistic puff pieces or suck up to bush who may be the worst President in our history.

Good for the real good news and that is honest and a human intrest story but no way will it overcome the scale of bad news ...it is that bad and it is because of the incompetence of the bush culture.

quite simply put bush in front of it

quite simply put bush in front of it.....bush + enablers+ neo-cons+cronies+rush limbaughs noise = bush culture...that simple

now back to the subject before you get edited for being off topic:smilewinkgrin:

The Press overall has been pro-bush enabler for years and the right wing noise machine has moved the goal posts (fox news) for being grosely pro-bush...but even the right wing newspapers and fox have their limts and you are seeing some push back ...from the conservatives who were against nation building to begin with.

the bush culture of incompetence has been that bad and it seems only to get worse....it looks like he is rejecting more of his dads help and does not give a flip about osama bin laden. Those two things taking help from his father and killing osama bin laden is the only thing that will give him an ounce of legacy imho.

There are plenty of stories like the OP from Iraq that are never covered by the main stream press. GI's are out helping the locals every single day by providing dental and medical aid, toys for children, delivering wheelchairs to handicapped people who have never had one, etc. Also news of the improved effectiveness of the Iraqi Army, and their successes in fighting the enemy, something unheard of just a couple years ago. You'll never see those in the Washington Post or New York Times - link
