I went to a Gaither Homecoming show this past Saturday in Bossier City, and i have to admit i actually enjoyed it.
I'm by no means a Southern Gospel fan...in fact, if my church members here Southern Gospel coming out of the pastor's study, that means they have a new pastor! I went because our secretary had 8 extra tickets and is the master of the guilt trip, and i had heard Russ Taff was going to be there (i became a Russ Taff fan back in his rocker days of the 80's and 90's).

It really turned out to be a great time of worship, which i did expect it to be. I'm still not southern gospel fan by any chance...but i did enjoy it! And if you like bluegrass, the Isaac's rock!

The Gaithers are outstandingly talented musicians who have been involved in a number of venues besides Southern Gospel! I remember when my own kids were growing up, they had some children's albums (yeah, real records!) out that were wonderfully encouraging to both the kids and to me! They have worked in hymn writing, ballad writing, country writing, and even a little classical, if I recall correctly. You don't need to be ashamed of enjoying such wonderful talent and skill!

No shame, indeed! We've been to several Homecoming concerts over the years and they are FAB! :)

I went and was surprised at how good a time I had! My father had a hard time, because it seemed like every "older" artist had a new grandbaby, and I know it hit hard for him (having expected to be a new granddad). The Isaac's are great! I also enjoyed the Crabb Family.
