Gas Tax

    ...it's out of date... MD just passed a new gas tax during this general assembly. Not sure how much they are steal...err taxing us now.

    One pattern that I notice is that, states that have lower income and property tax also have lower gas taxes for the most part. In other words, it is not a matter of having higher gas tax to make up for no or lower income tax, but seems to be a general philosophy of lower taxes in general. Notice the gas tax in Alaska.

    Interesting!
    I wonder how Income Tax falls in line with that.

    Also a State or Commonwealth that has a very high gas tax and is next to one with a very low rate - probably looses a lot of sales/taxes to the lower tax state/commonwealth
