So to fill a 20 gallon tank it would be $80.00?!   That would certainly make a person consider other forms of transportation.

It's 79.9 per liter here. Fairly expensive to fill up my van.

Petrol (gas as you call it) is somewhere between £4 - £5 per gallon here. How does that convert to dollars? Now I wander why we tend to have smaller cars over here?

    yours, Jon.

Jon, you're talking about British pounds right (please forgive my ignorance [IMG] )?

If so here is the conversion:

    4 United Kingdom Pounds = 6.43883 U.S. Dollars

Yikes. Now I really don't feel so bad about the price I'm paying. Kind of puts things in perspective.

Holy Cow! Did I read that right? That would mean that to fill up my car it would cost me $120.00....Oh my goodness!!!

That would mean that my husband who has to fill up his tank 4 times a week would be paying $480.00 a week for gasoline? That's $1,920 dollars a month? That's two times our house payment.

    How can anybody afford that?

Oh, by the way, I just got back from taking my daughter to Girl Scouts and read the marque for the gas price at our local Mobil station...it was $2.05.9 for regular.

The government put the price high cos they think it will encourage us to be more friendly to the environment. So most of us will have smaller cars than you do in america which wont use so much fuel

    yours, Jon.

where we are in the U.K. it is about 78.9 per litre or thereabouts, for unleaded, but it varies.
certainly helps to keep us poor.

    :( :(

I filled our car up at Sam's Club the other day and I paid $1.50/gal.

I wonder how many V-10's Ford or Chrysler will be selling the rest of this year. Maybe the auto makers will start charging more for smaller engines. [IMG]

I guess we need a horse.. [IMG] ..But
with my luck the way it goes at time's...They
would raise the prices on grain..

right now gasoline is going for $1.67 to $1.70
    around here...last week it was $1.62 & I heard
in some places it jump 20 cent's on the gallon.

And if it keep's going up...i might just half
    to find me a horse & buggie..cause i have 2 kid's
And my husbend drive's about 40 miles one way
to work everday..so it take's him about half
hour to 45 min to get there now...So wander
what it would take on a horse.. [IMG]

Okay, my husband filled her up today. It cost $31.00.

He told me that at the gas station by his work in the morning it was one price...and when he left at the end of the day it had gone up 8 cents!

Willow 2!! 40 miles on a horse?? How long will the trip take?? With a sustained gallop? or doggin' the poor fella out?? Or a gallop, then a trot, then a walk, then a rest?? Probably a full day to cover the 40 miles--then the husband is gonna have to think about gettin' home--that'll be another day!! Two things--(1) the horse will be sweaty when he gets your husband to work (2) your husband better not travel with the hemorroids!!! In that case, the horse will fair fine--its your husband we'll have to worry about!! Sorry, just had to put #2 in there!
