    This and infanticide of the unborn. How long will it be before God allows America to just be blown off the planet?

    Even so come, Lord Jesus. [IMG]

    Well, in Seattle (from the newspaper stories anyhow) the parade was mostly about families; the focus was more on the hope for the right to marry than the actuality of the sodomy-law ruling. But then Washington State repealed its law against sodomy decades ago (it was enacted in 1893; I wonder why it was legal before that, and what sort of case caused it to be enacted).

    I didn't make it this year, so I have to go by what the media reported.

    Where's your faith, SheEagle9/11? Why are you and others in such deep despair? God has gotten the United States out of a whole lot worse situations than this? Don't you think He can deliver us from it rather than "blow us off the planet"? Isn't that what the Psalmist pled before God?

    Psalm 6:1-10 (ESV)
    [1]O Lord, rebuke me not in your anger,
    nor discipline me in your wrath.
    [2] Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am languishing;
    heal me, O Lord, for my bones are troubled.
    [3] My soul also is greatly troubled.
    But you, O Lord—how long?
    [4] Turn, O Lord, deliver my life;
    save me for the sake of your steadfast love.
    [5] For in death there is no remembrance of you;
    in Sheol who will give you praise?
    [6] I am weary with my moaning;
    every night I flood my bed with tears;
    I drench my couch with my weeping.
    [7] My eye wastes away because of grief;
    it grows weak because of all my foes.
    [8] Depart from me, all you workers of evil,
    for the Lord has heard the sound of my weeping.
    [9] The Lord has heard my plea;
    the Lord accepts my prayer.
    [10] All my enemies shall be ashamed and greatly troubled;
    they shall turn back and be put to shame in a moment.

    The opportunities for reaching the lost have never been as evident as they are today. Ministries that specialize in reaching Gays have never been in greater demand then they are today. Perhaps we need to pray for Exodus International and here in Canada New Beginnings groups that focus on the Gay Community.

    You're right, Ken. If I truly had faith, I would not grieve over the immorality and degeneration of my country. In fact, if I truly had faith, I would not even post about infanticide or homosexuality and not concern myself with these earthly matters. I would not grieve over the evil on the planet. For me to do so shows a lack of faith. So I will quit posting about these things. It is not edifying.

    "The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick" Jeremiah 17:9.

    "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. " - Eph. 5:11

    "For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake. One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies. This witness is true. Whereforerebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;" - Tit. 1:10-13

    "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." - 2 Tim. 3:1-5

    If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds." - 2 John 1:10-11

    "I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed." - Gal. 1:6-9

    "Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us." - 2 Thes. 3:6

    'And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother." - 2 Thes. 3:14-15

    ~~~~~~~~~~~
    Note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. Note that man... do not respond to his or her posts. Avoid that person... do not be involved in their sin... or their endorsement of sin....
    We need to be salt. We need to be light. We need to be eagles in flight. We need to be lambs that roar..... I don't know the name of the song, but the words ring true.
    We have to be grieved over situations before we pray about them...that is the epitome of faith. We pray and believe God will answer.
    This isn't faith?
    SheEagle: Don't ever stop being concerned and grieving over the immorality and degeneration of our country. We need MORE 'grievers'. No prayers would be going up at all if no one was grieved over the state the world is in today...
    Ken, David was weeping, grieving, and greatly troubled.
    Who said the solution God planned for the situation was the changing of hearts rather than blowing the enemy away? Both methods have been used.
    Haruo, repealing the sodomy laws is a crucial step to legalizing same sex marriages. It is impossible for a court to rule that a marriage is ok if it stands to reason that doing so will cause criminal acts to occur. Sex is a part of marriage.
    It is also cause for rejoicing among child molesters. There is a movement going on to legalize "boy love", and this is a small step toward getting that done. These people want to be seen as normal, and if sodomy is legal and seen as normal they're one step closer to their goal of normalizing sex between adult males and little boys.
    God is clear about his views on sin. Sure, he could cause all of this to end, but then again he could cause the nation who sins against him to be utterly destroyed by their enemies. Just going on the past I'd say that the latter seems to be the most forseeable event. 9-11 could have been an eye-opener, but instead of repentance and turning away from sin we only became more accepting of others and also of idolatery. That's frightening to me.
    The two great commandments are to love God with all your being and love your neighbor as yourself. Let's do these two things and leave judgment up to God.
    Please excuse me for trying to encourage ya'll who are downhearted because you don't like the U.S. Supreme Court ruling. However, we as a society can decide to get rid of bad laws without the sky falling. We have done it before, such as separate but equal, and we are a better society because we attempt for equal justice under the law. [IMG]
