All oil huh?

Look don't sweat it okay. The good guys are on it already. We got people in Iran who do uh "things" to destabilize Iran. The funding was debated in congress the team even made the news a few times now the Iranians call them "terrorists?

We call them assets.

We aren't going anywhere without "all oil" trust me.:smilewinkgrin:

Each country is still in turmoil due to Sunnis. Who's to say without the US presence over there that the Shiite control will remain?

The majority of the population is Shiite in both countries. I think that eventually the Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr will be the leader of Iraq.

 

Conspiracy or not. We're still broke. I'd call that a major fact worth considering. That's all.

 

I actually read where someone tried the "we're really not in debt, these countries are just investing in America's economy".

I don't doubt it, in fact I edited my post because I think the General Patraeus is in a no win situation. I also don't doubt that the general is doing the best he can considering who his boss is.

 

Probably doesn't help him the same people that approved him now call him a liar.

I don't hate him. He's just a soldier, after all. He was put in a situation by both parties, and now both parties are using him to either get elected, or stay elected.

 

And he needs his paycheck just like everyone else. More than one general has been fired not towing the political line or for sticking to their duty and principles.

Now a days though we only hear about their principles after they've been fired or retired.

Petraeus presented quite a few statistics showing undeniable progress. Which of them do you dispute?

 

Sadr is losing influence, not gaining.

The Shiite-majority government has shown that it now has much more powerful security forces, and the political will to fight the Shiite militias. When the Iraqi opposition held an emergency session of parliament to oppose the Basra operations, only 54 of the 275 members of parliament showed up.

The amnesty for militia members is drawing hundreds of takers.

Even Time Magazine said, "There has been a large-scale retreat of the Mahdi Army in the oil-rich Iraqi port city because of low morale and because ammunition is low".

I dont understand why the war is not paid for with Iraqi oil revenues?

They have it, we need it, and they owe us.

Can you imagine the uproar if we actually did seize Iraqi oil to fund the war?

Actually we did the Iraq people a great service. We liberated them from one major tyrant and loosed ten thousand minor tyrants on them. That's why we're the "good guys". :thumbsup:
