If you want YOUR version of the Bible to be the one everyone uses, then outlaw the printing or importation of the rivals.

Remember, the MAIN objection James & the Anglican crowd had to the Geneva Bible were the copious marginal notes AGAINST MONARCHY and AGAINST A HIERARCHIAL CHURCH.

They had to get a new Bible out. So require every church to use the AV to get the "poison" of the marginal notes of the Geneva out of the system.

And remember, the AV was NOT a "new" translation. 9 out of every 10 words in a given verse were IDENTICAL to the previous English like Tyndale and Geneva bibles. It just "tweaked" them a little (10%) and eliminated those "damnable calvinistic notes"!

For anyone interested in viewing an online version of the Geneva Bible take a look at StudyLight.org where you can parallel the Geneva along with the KJV or any one of several different versions. The notes from the Geneva are also available for viewing.

I don't think many know that the Geneva Bible was used over and above the KJV for a long time, the KJV Bible was the work of the state church in England...

Rudeness seems to be big on this board.

I can say with the KJV that it keeps the Blood, The Deity of Christ and Salvation. I don't use the other versions because they take out or use words that make these things of no effect.

Here is a few verses that some translations leave out.."For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the booik of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book" Revelation 22:18-19

Elaine, I'm risking my neck by posting in this forum ;) There are safer places in the fellowship forums. This is a debate forum.

Could you please tell me which translations leave out Revelation 22:18-19. I have looked at several, and so far, all have those verses.

Elaine, have you ever stopped to consider that some material may have been ADDED to the KJV? There's just as strong a case for the latter as there is that other versions have omitted some material.
