    Hi Everybody!

I posted this on the George Bush thread, but it is so far down the line, I am posting it here.

He made this testimony before he ever ran for President.

I just went to Google Search and found lots of websites but here is one from a Baptist Church Homepage.

Well, I just read the whole thing, and it starts off the same as when I read it a couple of years ago, but he has updated it quite a bit!

There may be something wrong with the link, I clicked it but it didn't work. I've read it before, though.

What did he add...his comments about how great Islam is?

Or an excuse for sitting silently by while 3500 babies a day are slaughtered?

By their fruits ye shall know them.

Sounds like a testimony of salvation to me. I wouldn't question his salvation.

I think he has a plan for this country. Sometimes Christians can be so impatient. This country will not change overnight, and President Bush has a plan that is set in motion. Like he said, "Societies are renewed from the bottom up." This country is near the bottom, so far from Christian values and God's perfect way, and Bush is not going to accomplish anything by condemning other religions or jumping in in the middle. He can't stop abortion today because we have laws that are already in force from yesterday.

Time is against our President, but to have someone in office that has a plan, and has the Lord as his guide. This is something we need to be thankful for. God puts leaders into government to show Christians the state they are in. When Clinton was in office, we saw the depravity of this country. But to have Bush in office shows we can still have hope.

PJ, it works fine from here. I had checked in in Preview before I posted it and I just tried it again.

Maybe you can just type it in and see if it works.

Or go to Google.com or AOL Search and type in 'George Bush Christian Testimony'. There are lots of websites that have it.

Well, it may be a plan, but could it be the wrong plan?

    The link:

I believe President Bush is in office because God answered the prayers of many, many fundamental Bible-believing, born-again Christians. The President Bush I see in office seems far different than the man I thought I was voting for. [IMG]

Bush has a plan that includes stopping abortion?? I hope he shares it with us. I hope he begins to implement it soon. Yes, I am a bit impatient. There are thousands of babies who will die tomorrow.

Is the unprecedented appointment of homosexual activists to important positions in his administration also part of the plan?

I cannot share what the President has in his heart nor can I know what is in anyone elses. I can say that from hearing his testimony that I believe his salvation is as valid as anyone here. To those who are impatient I understand but how do we know that he has not done all he could on many of the issues we have mentioned here. I know as a Pastor that if I play bull in a china shop in my church that I will accomplish little more than getting myself thrown out but if I practice tact and diplomacy with the Lord's help I can accomplish much. I am not calling for a blind eye to be turned toward the President but I would like to see all of us honor the bible by Praying for him more and ridiculing him less. Yes I would like abortion to stop but I have done little in the fight myself, maybe if I was president I could do more? Maybe we would have been better off if Gore had won? Does anybody here believe that.

Sure, it sounds great. It's a free country, he can say anything he wants. but as James tells us, faith without works is dead.

Here's how: while 3500+ babies are killed each day, he has not even sasid anything, let alone taken any action. He has made numerous appointments of homosexual activists, gaing the praise of the "log cabin republicans". I could go on.

Well, he certainly hasn't been a bull in a china shop when it comes to abortion, but he sure can spend our money faster than any Democrat on record. And you can count on him not EVER doing anything that might have negative political consequences. As to accomplishing much, I don't question youur effectiveness in your church, but I have not seen anything accomplished for the conservative Christian cause by Mr. Bush.

It's hard to say, not knowing exactly what Gore would have done. But, Bush has been to the left of Clinton, and I doube that Gore would have been quite as liberal.

I just 'half listen' to the news when I am busy, but I heard that this medical doctore who has come into a prominent office; Is he the new speaker of the house?

They were asking him about abortion and he is definitely prolife and intends to get right on the ban on partial birth abortion that they have passed twice and Clinton vetoed it.

    God bless! [IMG]

It is at least one step in the right direction.

Murph[/QB]</font>[/QUOTE]It sounds crazy, I know, because we've been so condidioned to think "Republican = conservative".

What major policy shifts can you name in the executive branch since Clinton?

He is. Look at his judiciary nominees. It must start there and allow new laws and challenges erode the legal base for abortion. It is not immediate and may not be satisfying but the goal probably cannot be accomplished any other way considering that liberals control the media and education establishments.

    1) How do you know how much I pray for the President?

Jim I don't know nor did I claim to, I just noticed that while you picked the rest of my quote apart you didn't respond to that. In my view however much you Pray for him you might consider increasing that time and decreasing the time spent ridiculing him.

Some people might be interested in this link:

However, the last time I posted this, I was immediately ridiculed by those on the left side of the political spectrum. :(

Jim I feel that when we look at Bush we see a good man with a tough job, I know he is not perfect and I also know that when you step into that arena that you must accept the judgement of others. I agree with Scott that we cannot overlook the fact that his appointments have been blocked. That does raise an interesting question concerning your comments that George is liberal, if he is so liberal then why don't the liberals approve his appointments?
