    Thanks! That train was steam. They plan to run it again soon. I think it will still be steam, bound to be a big tourist draw. There is a great demand for its return.

    My gut feeling, knowing what I have experienced in those months in SA, is that it will never be restarted. The whole country is breaking down. In some parts of the country the infrastructure is being pillaged, metal from tracks, wiring, road signs, etc., and the law enforcement is spread very thin. I personally know a couple who were attacked and robbed (this was in Rustenburg) and the cops were on strike, did nothing. The ambulance finally arrived and gave the lady gauze for the shiv wounds. They had no antibiotics! The lady had to use her own scotch tape to secure the gauze. The country is falling apart.
