"The God who Justifies" By James White

"The Potter's Freedom" by James White

I received "The Message" (whole Bible, finally available!) by Eugene Peterson and "The Hobbit" by J.R.R. Tolkien.

I also bought for myself "The Texts of the Earliest New Testament Greek Manuscripts" by Comfort and Barrett, "Introduction to the Study of the Gospels" by B.F. Westcott, "God Gave Wine" by Kenneth Gentry and "Six Lectures on the Ante-Nicene Fathers" by F.J.A Hort.

My wife gave me the "The Baker Encyclopedia of Christian Apologetics", by Norman Geisler. Should be a great reference book.

I never get anyone to buy me theological texts - I'll take tips as to where to hunt them down
If you live in Canada near a Value Village once a month a Pastor or someone with a decent library dies - then its raiding time - foolish children not loving books - I fully intend to claim those 500-600 books my father has - minus the Bibles - my brother collects versions - when my father dies - and may it not be for a long while so he can accumulate more books. Just think of it enough books to do nothing but read until you die!
Regretfully for me thats a high number 100+ books read a year

But I prefer to buy them myself

People can buy me fantasy/sci-fi books

Ive got a tiny collection of 300-400+

some of which are Christian fiction ;)

Poor Christian writers are forced to clearly mark their book "Christian" which means that often the style and message suffers - and of course sales ;)

Only received one book this year, except the ones I bought myself: The Hymnal (1982). My daughter bought it for me from the National Cathedral in Washington DC while on a trip there. I collect hymnals and hymn books.

Gina, I think you will really enjoy "More than Conquerors."

I made out like a bandit.

I got the Hebrew Bible from my wife. I got the Hebrew-English Lexicon by Holladay from my daughter (who is 11 months old so it was actually from me) and the Commentary on Jeremiah in the NICOT from my parents and the Septuagint from my sisters and Exegetical Fallacies from my brother. I love books!
