Now why would they want to do that? MV defenders know that it's best to keep the "qualifications" and beliefs of their translators secret.

Although many here laugh at fact that it was the Anglicans who translated the Authorized Version, I think you miss the point of why so many Christians hold to the KJV. It has proven itself over the centuries. Since God has blessed this Holy Book, I do not see any reason to switch Bibles now, especially not to a Bible translated by this apostate generation.

I couldn't agree more.

it's almost sad how these mv lovers can't see the fact that the resons for all the various new mv's is just for someone to make money. They don't care about Biblical accurast, just $$$$$$

Below is the list of NASB translators. It is interesting to note that 11 of the 40 translators were also NIV translators. These 11 are noted in bold.

(1) Peter Ahn
(2) Warren Allen
(3) Gleason Archer
(4) Herman Austel
(5) Kenneth Lee Barker
(6) Fred Bush
(7) David L. Cooper
(8) Richard W. Cramer
(9) Edward R. Dalglish
(10) Charles Lee Feinberg
(11) Harvey Finley
(12) Paul Gray
(13) George Giacumakis
(14) Edward F. Harrison
(15) John Hartley
(16) F. B Huey, Jr.
(17) Charles Isbell
(18) David W. Kerr
(19) William L. Lane
(20) Timothy Lin
(21) Oscar Lowry
(22) Elmer Martens
(23) Henry R. Moeller
(24) Reuben A. Olson
(25) J. Barton Payne
(26) Walter Penner
(27) John Rea
(28) W.L. Reed
(29) Robert N. Schaper
(30) Moisés Silva
(31) Ralph L. Smith
(32) Merrill C. Tenney
(33) Robert L. Thomas
(34) George Townsend
(35) Bruce Waltke
(36) Lowell C. Wendt
(37) William C. Williams
(38) Herbert M. Wolf
(39) Kenneth Wuest
(40) Fred Young

And, for those of you who like to get "up close and personal", J. Barton Payne WAS a Covenant Theological Seminary professor. He also taught Sunday School at the Covenant Presbyterian Church in a suburb of St. Louis called Town & Country. His daughter did occasionally baby sit my children as we lived only a short distance from his home on the seminary property. Dr. Payne was killed when he fell over a cliff while climbing Mt. Fuji in Japan. His "specialty" was 1 & 2 Chronicles.

The other four NIV translators from Covenant Theological Seminary all taught Sunday School classes at Covenant Presbyterian Church in St. Louis. That would be Dr. Harold Mare, Dr. Wilber Wallis, Dr. Laird Harris and Dr. Harold Stigers. They were all held in high esteem within the community. My acquaintance with all five was only in passing and took place in the early 1970s.

If you trust the Ecumenical and apostate days with a melting pot of beliefs of the translators, and the corrupt texts that underline them in these perilous times, go right ahead.

Thank you. That sounds like a great idea.

If you popped your head up out of your self-imposed "fundamentalist" hidey-hole once in a while, you would know their qualifications.

Yeah, we should pay more attention to someone who not only apparently has no knowledge of translation, but doesn't appear to care about English "accurast" either. [IMG]

I see that Ransom is back to his usual tactics of insulting others.

You're right, Terry. The course of action I took is wrong.

Instead, I should just have posted the names of all the KJV translators and hinted that they were evil or something, without actually providing any evidence that it was so, or even actually saying so.

That's great that you were are interested in studying Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic. Apparently you have come out of the KJV 1611 only crowd.

</font>
Please, Jim, show the MV users just exactly where it comes down to the "money" as you put it for the use of the MV's. And, also, please prove that MV users don't care about Bible accuracy.

Amazingly enough I did spend several hours on the net looking for a pro-NIV site thta would give me information about the translators. I found only the site that was posted and it does not give a full list and there is nothing in there about Virginia Mollencott.(go figure) Apparently they dont like people knowing about her. So possibly you could "enlighten" me as to where to go to find a complete list of qualifications for ALL of them?

This is a specious argument. When I go to the Christian book store. The KJV cost just as much as any other translation. This ridiculous charge needs to be put to rest permanantly.

</font>
Sounds like they make more money on the KJV because they don't have to pay for translation work.

Google shows:

for Virginia Mollenkott - 674 results
for Virginia Mollencott - 065 results

Recommend the correct spelling be used.

Searching my leads down i find something
interesting:

--------------------total---www.av1611.org---chick.com
Virginia Mollenkott - 674-------18 times-----1 time
Virginia Mollencott - 65---------2 times-----22 times

So Chick Comics must be the source of
the misspelling. BTW, the 1 "hit" on
the "K" spelling with chick.com was
a pointer to it from another source [IMG]
