Kiffin, the movie is very Catholic. Then again, Catholics believe in the Bible. So its also very Biblical. Folks here on the BB are still trying to figure that one out. I mean, how the heck can it be Catholic AND have Billy Grahams endorsement

Billy Graham has been sending Catholic respondents at his crusades, back to the RCC for years. He has Roman Catholics working as leaders in his crusades. These respondents to the Gospel are sent right back into works-based heresy by this “evangelical” evangelist.

Brother Adam - I am wondering why you have become so vocal an apologist for papists?

Someone who claims to be a Baptist seems to be an odd champion of everything Catholic?

Wasn't going to say anything since it is not my job, but Bro Adam has a lot to say to defend a grace-denying organisation.

Debby, i think i understand what you're trying to say. i am not attacking you or your post like many here would like to think, but after reading your post I am left with this question: Is there any real need for a midwife at the occasion of an adoption? Please consider, your post does seem to indicate the presence of a mother, but the Lord adopts us, not birth's us.

Yes there should be many ready to lead others to Christ in helping them understand how to be saved. I'm sure that's what you meant. [IMG]

Brother Adam you know I never said Catholics are Anti-Christ, and my posts have praised Catholicism more than once, for good works and other aspects that are very positive. I don't use Protestantism as a weapon against Catholicism. I hold to my claim that mega-church marketing strategies and non-biblical ecumenicism will be among the tools that will usher in the Anti-Christ, aided by church apostasy. This is clearly recorded in the New Testament texts. Unity of the Spirit and embracing blatant heresy and the visions of self-mutilating mystics are two very different things. No one ever mentions A.C. Emmerich's writings, which inspired this film. Odd silence on part of Passion supporters. Hmmmm....To prove that I and others are uttering "half truths and lies" I dare you to type in Dolorous Passion or Anne Catherine Emmerich in your favorite Search Engine and see what nutty extra-bilbical nonsense you get in her writings.

How do you know that "the movie is very Catholic" and what does that mean? </font>[/QUOTE]no surprise whatsoever!

Billy Graham said this of the Romish Belmont Abbey: "The gospel that built this school and the gospel that brings me here tonight is still the way of salvation."

this was way back in 1967. since then, he's opened the floodgates of ecumenism, n a whole new generation of leaders have gone ahead w Evangelicals n Catholics Together n other such initiatives. today we reap the fruit of compromise n deception.

"Mel's movie's based on the delirious experience of a STIGMATIST nun."
Since when is there anything wrong with being a stigmatist ;)

"Brother Adam - I am wondering why you have become so vocal an apologist for papists? "
For those who didn't notice, Adam has been like this since the day he signed up.

"Someone who claims to be a Baptist seems to be an odd champion of everything Catholic?"
On the other hand considering the amount of blatantly false anti-papist noise generated by certain people on this board, it is not that surprising that the better informed sometimes feel the urge to defend the CC a little.

Yes the great Mel Gibson. Lethal weapon Mel. R-rated Lethal weapon Mel Foul-mouthed Mel is now going to capitalize on the violent death of my Savior. I wonder if the Jehovah's Witnesses pooled their billions of dollars together and put together a quality movie about their version of what took place we would be in a spiritual frenzy. But someone in another false religion does it and everyone seems to be confusing this movie with the Second Coming. Dont forget what the pope said: "It is as it was" That says alot.

I absolutely do not want critics of The Passion to turn against Mel Gibson or Catholics. Nor do I relish the anger that some foolish folks might feel toward the Jewish race or Romans after seeing this film, if they indeed do decide to see it. Hebrews 6:6 is troubling me when I think of this film and how it exposes Jesus to fresh crucifying and open shame. He despised the humiliation of the cross for the joy set before Him. Self-mutilating stigmatists and mystics are Biblically in error and mentally disturbed.

Gibson cuts in. "You want to hear something else? One of the spiritual names for Mary was 'the morning star' (which in German translates to 'morgenstern')."
Maia Morgenstern's black eyebrows arch. "I didn't know this," says the actress who plays Mary.
    "Yeah," says Gibson. "It's weird."

Can't count the number of times I'ver responded to this...oh well...

I'm more against the "Damn the papists to hell club" than I am against Catholic Christians.

While, if you look hard enough, I remain very concerned about some Catholic doctrine and voice those concerns on another website. Our Catholic Christian Brethren have enough to deal with here dealing with some of the most arrogant folks I've ever met.

If we ever get a Methodist or Pentacostal on the board and Bob or Ray or Singer attacks them as they do the Catholics, you will no doubt see me standing up with them also.

Kindof like the white folks who stood next to their black brothers and sisters while the KKK attacked. You don't have to stand for or believe everything someone believes to come to their aide in a time of need.

Brother Adam: you manifest the spirit of holy gentleness in this post above, and I want to praise God for it. Jesus was not anti-Pharisee, or anti-Samaritan, or anti-Zealot, or anti-gay, or anti-Roman, He was anti-Satan. Jesus had profound disagreements with Samaritan and Pharisee theology, and stated them. But Jesus was kind and taught the heretic, cultish Samaritan woman at the well some of the most profound truths He ever taught ("God is Spirit...worship Him in Spirit and in Truth"). I am sickened by the Passion film heresy and mutilation emphasis, but I love many many things about Catholicism, and about other faiths, including gentle Buddhist morality and Muslim submission, but I know that Jesus is the Only Way. Brother Adam, once again, you came through for peace and fairness. Blessings bro. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Thank you for your display of Christian charity vaspers.

It is my prayer that all those millions who do see this movie, will be moved closer to Christ and for those who have not faith in Him will be compelled to ask Christians about what they have seen in the movie, so that we may share with them the life and free gift of Jesus Christ with them.

May it be God's will and not my own.

    God Bless,
    Bro. Adam

Sorry. I was being facetious. Internet grammar is one of my pet peeves. Not that mine is the greatest and I certainly hate to be the grammar police but it's just really irritating.

I just couldn't take it anymore and, rather than being an adult (which is highly overrated) and politely asking him to please not do that, I decided to respond in kind.

rbrent misunderstood what I wrote. God desires for all to be saved. Mel Gibson has given his personal testimony of faith in Christ. I have no reason not to believe him, thus my prayer won't be for the salvation of his soul but for the strength to deal with Christians who would prefer to attack him rather than work with him as a brother in Christ.
