Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone. I agree this world is pretty crummy, Alcott, but am still blessed by God's goodness in spite of the crumminess of this world. Praise God for His blessings - Salvation, enough to eat, shelter, family, friends, and God's Peace that Passes all Understanding no matter how crummy the world becomes. And it will probably become worse with the passing of time. Praise God, He is Lord of All & is still on the Throne! Hallelujah!

God didn't say Christians would be without problems and pain. He just said we'd be happy. So far, so good.

I've been blessed with a wonderful wife, great children, and the health to enjoy life with them.

What else could I want? Thank you, God.

Needless to say, THANKSGIVING is the only US Holiday
    that is scriptural:

    Phi 4:6 (KJV1611 Edition):
Bee carefull for nothing: but in euery thing by prayer
    and supplication with
    thankesgiuing, let your request
    be made knowen vnto God.

Oh, it's an unconstitutional holiday? I knew there was something screwy about it.

Sometimes our circumstances seem pretty dismal, and God's power pretty weak, but the weakness is in our lack of faith, and the knowlege that He is at work in us, should give us the desire to seek his counsel.

I know when I'm beaten down, and in low spirits, it is NOT of God, and that I have the ability to decide my attitude. I sometimes willingly wallow in the mire of self pity for a time, till I realize it is only me that is suffering, not Him. (I usually blame Him for it) He is always there to accept me back.

Since this is the political area.........

I am thankful for the return of a semblance of checks and balances to our democracy and willing to give the new leadership the traditional 100 days to lead and lay out their blueprint.

Thankful their is clues that bush is asking for help from his father and getting rid of rumsfeld.

thankful we have hope in bringing back honest brokers who will preserve the middle class and relieve their stress and stop the bleeding to the 1 percenters .

thankful for open debate about Iraq instead of the stupidity of "stay the course" stubbornness.

thankful and have hope America is going to get a raise to those who need it and give glory to God for that mercy.

the bush culture has hurt this great nation if he is really sincere about saving a legacy he will be sincere about getting wisdom from his fathers culture of leadership..and of course he must capture or kill osama bin laden.

    hopeful for ethics resurgence

hopeful for legislation to help a 3rd and 4th party

hopeful for education being put front and center(every American guaranteed a college education to some degree(pun).

hopeful for a new war on hunger and poverty

hopeful the world will start to see us as the good America again.

    "RECOVERY...LOOKS LIKES IT'S GONNA BE OKAY...IT'S A NEW DAY"

For the first time since I voted for Richard Nixon
-- I ain't paying for the change. Yep, I'm done on the dole; living
at the expence of the tax payer; collecting my entitlement --
I retired in Aug 2006. I ain't gonna help yall form the
    BRAVE NEW WORLD.

Needless to say, I AM THANKFUL very much that i've retired.

BTW, I figure I payed about a quarter of a Million Dollars in
taxes -- pretty good return from the USgovernment for the some
$6,000 they gave me to go to colleges.
