I was thinking of a true story I read many years ago about a certain well to do English lady commenting on how she was saved.

She said that she was saved by an M. When asked about this strange statement she quoted I Cor. 1:26, which says, "For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:"

She then explained that God said, "not many" instead of "not any." If it had not been for that one letter she would have been excluded.

I am certainly not of the nobility, but I am grateful that He included me in his calling.

In eternity past, when the Godhead was ordaining eternal degrees as to the salvation of ANY of mankind, I am thankful that God the Son looked up to God the Father and said, "What about Bob?"

Probably wasn't a first choice, maybe not even a high draft pick. But selected to be put "in the beloved" category.

And when I get to heaven, sure that St Peter (you know, at the Pearly Gates) will look at this old sinner-saved-by-grace and say, "Oh, it's you, Bob" and let me in to see my Dad!

The early part of my life was spent scooping coal into the fire. The last 30 odd years have been spent fueling a woodburner with split wood. I was beginning to think I was apprenticing.....then, Jesus came and said, Ye are my friend. I like that. So, when I get to glory, there will be central heating and some other blokes will be shovelling the coal and fueling the fires.

Praise God from Whom all blessings flow.

    Cheers,

    Jim

I always pictured him saying, "Well, there goes the neighborhood." I am just glad that Jesus said, "whosoever".

It is comforting to know that He is with us ALL the time. I am so very "Thankful" that Jesus loves me and died for me so that I can be with Him in Heaven and that He sent the Holy Spirit to dwell with us on earth. He is truly a friend and a comforter.

Thank you for sharing that, Terry.

Isn't it delightful to have such a positive thread on the Board. Something we can all agree on.

    Cheers, and God bless,

    Jim
