    Snow in Baghdad

Apparently Global Warming causes colder temperatures. So says Global Warming enthusiasts, anyway. It also causes record hurricane seasons when they are predicted, but it is also the cause when those hurricane seasons don't live up to their projections...

Global warming is the new "bigfoot search"...looking for something that is not there. It also has become a religion and a god in itself.

Why don't we negotiate with Russia to amend our treaty to not explode any more nuclear bombs in the atmosphere and use some of those big surpluses of them to darken the sky, thus preventing as many rays from reaching the atmosphere, thus cooling the planet?... that is, if what we're being told about global warming and blocking the sun's rays are true.

And while we're doing that, let's also amend the treaty to allow nuclear bombs to explode in space in case we develop spaceships which could use them for propulsion.

It has also been rumored that global warming fries some brains.

Like the brains of the British Interplanetary Society, who proposed the Orion starship, which is designed to use nuclear bombs as propellants?

    Global warming is global.

    Snow in Baghdad is local.

yep. But the temperature in Baghdad is local.

Global warming does not mean all local parts of the globe are warming. It means that the global temperature is warming.

Oklahoma has had a warmer than usual Fall followed
by a warmer than usual Winter. Both are related to
Global Warming. But don't worry, Oklahomans will
get along as long as they can sell their oil to the
rest of the states at such high prices.
Oklahoma does export more oil then it imports.

BTW, the rumors than in the early 1970s scientists
were predicting a world-wide cool down just isn't true.
If you did a 'poll' of all sources there were a lot more
talking about an oil inbalance. Sorry, burning oil
to drive long distances to work is a poor use of the
    limited oil available.

Some people dis the USGovernment because they
provide us the oil we need at a reasonable price.
    That seems stupid to me.
Some people dis the USGovernment because they
haven't let the Red Chineese get rich supplying arms
    to oil rich states.

Good is evil; evil is good -- the oppoiste of Global Warming.

Amen, Gold Dragon, it was warmer in Oklahoma the whole week
that it snowed one day in Baghdad. In fact, we in Oklahoma had
bad (worse ever) l;ilce storms -- because it is warmer this
Autum than usaul. "Too cold to snow' is a fact.

In December the average outage of the 60% of the homes
where the power was off -- the average outage was 9 days.

That is OKLAHOMA-wide, not just a local ice storm
    (which I've been in also).

    The Heat Is Off
A researcher at Russia's oceanology institute says global warming has peaked — and the planet is now headed for a cooling period that will last through the end of the century.
Oleg Sorokhtin is a fellow of the Russian academy of natural sciences. He writes in an article for the Russian news and information agency that a cold spell will set in by 2012. H believes an even colder period will begin as solar activity reaches a minimum in 2041 — and that it will last 50 to 60 years.
Sorokhtin says warming and cooling are entirely natural processes — independent of human activity. He says the current warming trend is due to changes in things like solar activity, ocean currents, and salinity fluctuations in Arctic waters.
Meanwhile, British weather experts say 2008 will be the coolest year since 2000 because of a drop in sea surface temperatures off the western coast of South America — known as La Nina. But they say this year will still be one of the 10 hottest years on record.....

When I was in grade school back in the 50's they taught us that the world "was" just a big ball of fire until it cooled. Seems it is a tad cooler now. Global warming is a figment of Algores imagination!

I went to school in West Oklahoma (grade 1-4/1949-1953)
and the Panhandle (grades 5-7/1953-1956) of Texas.

Before I was in gradeschool (about 1949) I remember
being in the Jeep. The plastic doors were closed
and the canvas top was up. My parents were very
agitated and we were in Weatherford, Oklahoma
runing away from the mountains. Anyway, that is my
memory. But Weatherford, Oklahoma is on the high plains.
The nearest mountian (Montana: hill) is 3 counties over.
What we were fleeing was a Wall Cloud filled with dust.
I experienced the 'little dust bowl' of the early 1950s.
It was smaller than in the 1930s because of CONSERVATION.
Conservation in that whole 'nother country was important.
Every wheat farm had a tree barrier along the section line road,
around the house & barn, etc. to slow down the wind.

What the earth was like a few million years ago is
not important. What is important is what we are going
to give those who come after us.
Using earth's limited oil products (even if the limit is
now 1,000 years) at the rate we are using is NOT
RULING OVER THE EARTH -- it is ruining the earth.

    Rev 11:1618 (KJV1611 Edition):

And the foure and twentie Elders which sate
before God on their seates, fell vpon their faces,
    and worshipped God,
17 Saying, Wee giue thee thankes, O Lord
    God Almightie, which art, and wast, and art to come;

because thou hast taken to thee thy great power,
    and hast reigned.
18 And the nations were angry,
and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead
that they should bee iudged, and that thou shouldest
giue reward vnto thy seruants the Prophets,
    and to the Saints
, & them that feare thy Name,
    small and great,
and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

    Gen 1:27-28 ;(KJV1611 Edition):
So God created man in his owne Image,
    in the Image of God created hee him;
male and female created hee them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said vnto them,
Be fruitfull, and multiply, and replenish the earth,
and subdue it, and haue dominion ouer the fish of the sea,
and ouer the foule of the aire, and ouer euery
    liuing thing that mooueth
    vpon the earth.

'Subdue' and 'dominion over' means to rule them
wisely -- not like temporary Vandals sacking the earth
for our own purposes with no reguard to the other
    living things.

Christians are to be even more wise:

    Matthew 10:16 (KJV1611 Edition):
Behold, I send you foorth as sheepe
    in the middest of wolues:
be yee therefore wise as serpents,
    and harmelesse as doues
    .

I really haven't found that scripture that
tells us we should be be a slippery as snakes
and as coo-coo as doves -- specially on
    such matters as GLOBAL WARMING,
    planetary misuse, defying God's commandments,
    etc.
